HOSEA 6:6
FOR I DESIRED MERCY
AND SACRIFICE
I DESIRE MERCY NOT SACRIFICE AND THE
KNOWLEDGE OF GOD
(6) For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice;
and the knowledge of GOD more than
burnt offerings
I DESIRE MERCY AND NOT
SACRIFICE
GOD want us to show love more
than he want sacrifice, he stress
that he delights in mercy,
compassion, toward men who

needs it, godly humanity steadfast,
loyalty, faithfulness, compassion,
love and kindness from the people
rather than the artificial in their
worship and service but to be
merciful and to truly know him, and
response to his love.
Lukewarm ,indifferent heart is
unacceptable to GOD, there are
repulsive to him, if you make false
profession and act self-righteously,
we will bring GOD’S hand of
judgment upon us, and if our love
for the LORD is half-hearted or is
insincere he will spit us out of his
mouth-REV. 3:15-16
THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD MORE
THAN BURNT OFFERINGS
Heartly affectionate knowledge of
GOD, which fills the heart with fears
of his goodness, love of his holiness,
trust in his promise and submission
to his will, knowledge of GOD’S law,
the rule of his obedience
ZECHARIAH 7 :9-10
SHEW MERCY AND
COMPASSION
EXECUTE TRUE JUDGMENT, AND SHEW
MERCY AND COMPASSIONS EVERY MAN
TO HIS BROTHER
(9) thus speaketh the LORD of hosts,
saying, execute true judgment, and shew
mercy and compassions every man to his
brother;
(10) And oppress not the widow, nor the
fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and
let none of you imagine evil against his
brother in your heart.
EXECUTE TRUE JUDGMENT AND
SHEW MERCY AND COMPASSION
EVERY MAN TO HIS BROTHER
The people are to administer true
justice, they are to treat each other
fairly and honestly, which is not
limited to the court of law, it is to
be applied to every person, every
relationship, and in every situation.
In the Biblical sense, justice means
much more than referring to wrong
doing from lying, stealing, cheating,
or misleading, mistreatment one’s
neighbor, bible justice has a positive
or proactive meaning as well, it
requires that GOD’S people should
look out for one another and meet
each others’ needs, especially the
needs of the weaker and more
vulnerable members of society:

widows, orphans immigrants, and
the all of this shows how deeply the
LORD cares about justice and the
way people treat one another the
poor and needy
SHEW MERCY AND COMPASSION
The people were to show mercy
and compassion to one another it
involves more than forgiveness, it
also meant:
v To be loving, kind, and
faithful
v To faithfully bear, hold up, or
support one another
v To show kindness even
when others are unkind
Being merciful requires GOD’S
people to go above and beyond
what was required to do the right
thing even when others do not
COMPASSION
Means tender love and concern ,
especially towards those in in need,
GOD’S people are to do much more
than simply refrain from exploiting
and abusing one another , they are
to show deep love and care for one
another
OPPRESS NOT THE WIDOW,
FATHERLESS STANGER NOR THE
POOR
GOD’S people are not to oppress
others but rather to care for the
weak, the widows, the orphans, the
strangers and the poor,
DEUTERONOMY 14:26,
DEUTERONOMY 16:11
DEUTERONOMY 26:12-13
GOD is the champion of the poor
and cares for the poor, he created
the rich and poor PROVERBS 22:2,
he commands his people to do the
same by taking care of the poor,
GOD makes law to protect the poor

and provide for them and ensure
that the poor are not mistreated,
and numerous more provision, to
ensure their needs are cared for,
the moral strength of a nation can
be determined by how it treats its
weakest member
LET NOT ONE OF YOU IMAGINE
EVIL IN HIS HEART AGAINST HIS
BROTHER
GOD’S people are not to plan or
think of evil against the others
plotting of crime such as:
To extort and take bribe
To cheat and steal
To exploit and oppress
To do all kinds of evil acts to get
advantage of others
In most cases, covetousness, excess
greed and the sin of pride thinking
less of others
MICAH 6:8
THE LORD REQUIRE OF
THEE, BUT TO DO
JUSTLY, AND TO LOVE
MERCY
HE HATH SHEWED THEE, O MAN, WHAT
IS GOOD; AND WHAT DOTH THE LORD
REQUIRE OF THEE, BUT TO DO JUSTLY,
AND TO LOVE MERCY
6)Wherewith shall I come before the
LORD, and bow myself be fore him with
burnt offering with calves of a year old?
7)Will the LORD be pleased with
thousands of rams, or with ten thousand
of rivers of oil? Shall I give my first-born
for my transgression, the fruit of my body
for the sins of my soul?
(8) He hath shewed thee, o Man, what is
good; and what doth the LORD require of
thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with thy GOD
HE HATH SHOW THEE O MAN
WHAT IS GOOD AND WHAT DO THE
LORD REQUIRE OF THEE
People sought to approach and
become acceptable to GOD through
ritual and sacrifice, which exposes
the foolishness and sinfulness of the
religionist/false teacher believing,
their giving large offering a human
sacrifice- the first born child the
offering of animals sacrifice make
them acceptable to GOD?
Many people are caught up in the
ritual of religion, regulation rules
ceremonies and progrms, they
foolishly believe they can be
accepted by going to church,
praying enough , give enough of
their money, they believe they can
live however they want , even
though they disobey GOD’S, when

they are not obedient to the
commandments of GOD
No person can be forgiven their sins
through human efforts, it is not
religion nor ritual that makes a
person acceptable, the only way
one becomes acceptable to GOD is
to believe his words and obey his
Holy commandment by doing his
will
GOD instructs us to seek his Mercy,
we are to plead for GOD mercy, his
undeserved love and favor for our
self and others, GOD’S word also
commands us to be Merciful to
others, if we are not willing to offer
Mercy we cannot obtain Mercy
MATTHEW 5:7
We must show mercy to others,
that is not to exercise malice, envy,
revenge, enmity or hatred towards
anyone,, but to be kind, and
obedient being dedicated, faithful,
able to forgive and pardon them, to
walk humbly before the LORD our
GOD, we should never be proud by
dependent on our own strength,
never seek honor for ourselves but
seek honor that comes from GOD
only JOHN 5:44 we should
constantly seek strength from GOD,
calling him to help us, guide us,
deliver us from sins,
GENESIS 39:21
BUT THE LORD WAS
WITH JOSEPH, AND
SHOWED HIM MERCY
GENESIS 39:21
BUT THE LORD WAS WITH JOSEPH AND
SHOWED HIM MERCY AND GAVE HIM
FAVOR
(21) But the LORD was with joseph, and
showed him mercy and gave him favor in
the sight of the keeper of the prison
Because Joseph honored and
feared GOD, GOD acknowledged
him in for victory over his
temptation and faithfulness to GOD
comforting him with his presence
under his affliction; supporting him
so causing him to bear them
patiently and cheerfully and showed
him mercy, and gave him favor in
the sight of the keeper of the
prison: GOD so wrought upon the

heart of this man, that he was
merciful to him and gave him liberty
to walk about; and many other
favor and kindness he showed to
JOSEPH
EXODUS 20:6
AND SHOWING MERCY
AND SHOWING MERCY UNTO THOUSAND
THAT LOVE HIM
(6) And showing mercy unto thousands
of them that love me and keep my
commandment
SHOW MERCY UNTO THOUSAND
THAT LOVE ME
To they that show their love by
worshipping GOD, and him only, by
serving him accepting his godly
fear, by cheerful obedience to all his
commandments from his heart and
keeping them and doing his will,
GOD being more abundant in
showing mercy, and exercising
grace and goodness on to them
EXODUS 22:22-23
YE SHALL NOT AFFLICT
ANY WIDOW, OR
FATHERLESS CHILD
YE SHALL NOT AFFLICT ANY WIDOW, OR
FATHERLESS
(22) Ye shall not afflict any widow, or
fatherless child
(23) If thou afflict them in any wise, and
they cry at all unto me I will surely hear
their cry
(24) And my wrath shall wax hot, and I
will kill you with the sword; and your
wives shall be widow, and your children
fatherless.
YOU SHALL NOT AFFLICT ANY
WIDOW OR FATHERLESS
Who have no friends, husband or
father to be on their side and to
protect them, and are weak and
helpless to defend themselves, and
therefore cruel to do them any
injury, either to their person or
property; no one ought to be
afflicted and distressed by another,
either in body or mind, or
substance, and especially such as
have no helper, not any to assist
them or sympathize with them, it is
binding on all believers that because
of their weakness and their
frequent affliction, cruel and
unmerciful men take advantage of
them
IF THOU AFFLICT THEM IN ANY
WISE AND THEY CRY UNTO ME
The people of GOD should ever be
ready to show kindness and mercy
according to the commandment of
GOD and not to by insults, false
imprisonment , withholding from
them what belongs to them, taking

what they have, or cheating and
defrauding them in any respect or
afflict them and continue to do so
and they cry vehemently or little
GOD will hear their cry, and will
take notice of their cry and return
answer to them, by appearing on
their side, and revenging their
injuries, for GOD is the FATHER of
the fatherless and the husband of
the widow
I WILL KILL YOU WITH THE SWORD
AND YOUR WIVES SHALL BE
WIDOW AND CHILDREN
FATHERLESS
GOD promise his wrath against
those that afflict them without
compassion and sympathy and so
guilty of oppression and injustice,
which are aggravated by the
circumstance of the persons they ill
treat and therefore provoking GOD,
the sword of the enemy will make
them widows and fatherless
JEREMIAH 21:12
THE LORD, EXECUTE
JUDGMENT IN THE
MORNING, AND
DELIVER HIM THAT IS
SPOILED
(12) O house of David, thus saith the
LORD; Execute Judgment in the morning,
and deliver him that is spoiled out of the
hand of the oppressors , lest my fury go
out like fire, and burn that none can
quench it, because of the evil of your
doings
THE LORD EXECUTE JUDGMENT IN
THE MORNING, AND DELIVER HIM
THAT IS SPOILED OUT OF THE
HAND OF THE OPPRESSOR
Without partiality the people are
adviced, let justice be done quickly
show a hearty regard for it; prefer it
to eating and drinking; and do it
without delay to the person
concerned.
To deliver from the hand of the
oppressor from the power of
wickedness, which was taken by
force or fraud; that was either
robbed or cheated of his substance
or was refused what he had lent to
or entrusted another with or was by
any ways and means wronged and
injured by another in his person or
property.

GOD commands that his people
must be concerned to deliver the
oppressed , when we are in position
to do so it is highly provoking to
GOD and GOD will deliver them up
into the hand of their enemies or
cause his judgment to fall upon
them
JEREMIAH 22:3
THUS SAITH THE LORD;
EXECUTE YE JUDGMENT
AND RIGHTEOUSNESS,
AND DELIVER THE
SPOILED OUT OF THE
HAND OF THE
OPPRESSOR
(3)Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye
judgment and righteousness, and deliver
the spoiled out of the hand of the
oppressor: and do no wrong, do no
violence to the stranger, the fatherless,
nor the widow, neither shed innocent
blood in this place
THUS SAITH THE LORD; EXECUTE YE
JUDGMENT AND RIGHTEOUSNESS,
AND DELIVER THE SPOILED OUT OF
THE HAND OF THE OPPRESSOR
Administer justice with righteous
judgment to all your subjects,
without bribe or corruption; do no
unrighteousness by withholding
from them what is due unto them.
The believer are to deliver the
stranger, fatherless and widow,
out of the hand of the oppressors,
that was mistreated or, robbed of
his property by one superior to him
in power from the stranger, the
fatherless and widow who have no
fewest friends, and therefore
exposed to the tyranny of injustice
and exposed to the lust of
oppression and they should do no
wrong to them by violence and
defend them, we ought to protect
such persons, and neither grieve
and injure them nor suffer others.
Believers are not to shed innocent
blood to acquire illegally the
properties, of we as believers are
to preserve their properties, lives
and provide for the weak and the
poor
PSALM 86: 15
A GOD FULL OF
COMPASSION, AND
GRACIOUS, LONG-
SUFFERING, AND
PLENTEOUS IN MERCY
PSALM 86:15
(15) But thou, O LORD art a GOD full of
compassion, and gracious, long-suffering,
and plenteous in mercy and truth
PLENTEOUS IN MERCY AND TRUTH
GOD is full of compassion,
merciful, in the most affectionate
and tender manner and rich and
plenteous in his mercy and gracious;
so he has been in eternity, manifest
from his kindness in JESUS CHRIST
from his justification, pardon,
adoption, effectual calling and
salvation of his people, which are all
of grace, long-suffering not only to
the wicked ones, but also to his
chosen ones
PROVERBS 3:3
LET NOT MERCY AND
TRUTH FORSAKE THEE
PROVERBS 3:3
LET NOT MERCY AND TRUTH FORSAKE
THEE
(3) Let not mercy and truth forsake thee;
bind them about thy neck; write them
upon tablet of thine heart
LET NOT MERCY AND TRUTH
FORSAKE THEE
Mercy and truth which is man’
duty should not be forsaken and
exercise of them and show mercy to
fellow beings, by relieving their
wants; sympathizing with them in
their troubles put on bowel of
compassion, be tenderhearted and
pardon offences; and in the spirit of
meekness, restore backsliders, for
GOD will have mercy
BIND THEM ABOUT THY NECK
WRITE THEM UPON YOUR HEART
Reckon it as your greatest honor,
do not forget them, keep them in
memory and always retain them in
your heart, as it is the Holy Spirit
work to write them have affection
for them
PROVERBS 14:21
BUT HE THAT HAVE
MERCY ON THE POOR
HAPPY IS HE
PROVERBS 14:21
BUT HE THAT HAVE MERCY ON THE
POOR, HAPPY IS HE
(21) He that despiseth his neighbor
sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the
poor, happy is he
UT HE THAT HAVE MERCY ON THE
POOR HAPPY IS HE
It a sin to despise and shun a man
because he is poor or of low estate:
because of his pedigree and his
circumstances, such a persons has
acclaim for love and pity; and it is a
crime to withhold them from him
for selfish consideration, the
merciful disposition, which shows
itself in works of mercy is a proof
that this soul is in union with GOD,
whose mercy is over all his works,
whose mercy endures for ever and
therefore the soul is blessed

The righteous are blessed because
they are kind and have mercy on
the poor, ignoring the needs of the
poor is a sin, those who despise the
poor commit sin
PROVERBS 14:22
MERCY AND TRUTH
SHALL BE TO THEM
THAT DEVISE GOOD
PROVERBS 14:22
MERCY AND TRUTH SHALL BE TO THEM
THAT DEVISE GOOD
(22) Do they not err that devise evil But
mercy and truth shall be to them that
devise good
MERCY AND TRUTH SHALL BE TO
THEM THAT DEVISE GOOD
The righteous plan to do good and
thus receive love and mercy, the
wicked plot evil and thus go astray,
foolish people are spiritually blind,
they are unable to see all that they
loose as a result of their sinful ways,
when they abandon GOD’S and plot
evil against their neighbor, they
forfeit the mercy and faithfulness of
both GOD and others towards
them.
Wise people make their plans in
the best interest of others, they put
other before themselves, they take
step further by actively seeking
ways to help others rather than
harm them, because they are
merciful, GOD is merciful towards
them as they are merciful toward
other they whom they offend,
through their merciful acts they
earn GOD’S faithful, care as well as
the loyalty of others
PROVERBS 14:31
HE THAT OPPRESETH
THE POOR THE POOR
REPROACHETH HIS
MAKER
PROVERBS 14:31
HE THAT OPPRESSETH THE POOR
REPROACHETH HIS MAKER
(31) He that oppresseth the poor
reproacheth his maker; but he that
honoreth him hath mercy on the poor
The righteous honor GOD by
helping the poor, the wicked shows
their hatred for GOD by oppressing
the poor , oppressors cheat and
take advantage of the poor, making
their circumstances much worse
than they already are, these wicked
individual disrespect and insult
GOD, their creator, the creator of all
mankind.
GOD take it as an act of open
disobedience when people abuse or
take advantage of the poor in any
way, those who wrong the poor
wrong GOD, people who honor GOD
attribute to him the position and
glory he deserves, are merciful and
kind to those who are poor and
needy
PROVERBS 20:28
MERCY AND TRUTH
PRESERVE THE KING
PROVERBS 20:28
MERCY AND TRUTH PRESERVE THE KING
(28) Mercy and truth preserve the king:
and his throne is upholden by mercy
Learn this Mercy, truth and love
bring stability in society to both
rulers and ordinary citizens, no
people or nation wants to be
governed by someone who kills and
terrorized his people, who cheat
them out of what is rightly theirs,
and oppresses them, where there is
no love or genuine concern, there is
no compassion and justice, only
greed and ruthlessness
Only a leader who governs with
love, mercy, faithfulness, and truth
is safe among his people, his seat of
authority is established and secured
by his unfailing commitment to the
welfare of the people he leads, his
unselfish and unfailing care stirs
people to love, protect, and if
necessary fight for him
PROVERBS 16 :6
BY MERCY AND TRUTH
INIQUITY IS PURGED

(6) By mercy and truth iniquity is purged:
and by the fear of the LORD men depart
from evil
BY MERCY AND TRUTH INIQUITY IS
PURGED
Fear GOD and seek him to be free
from sin; GOD love he is ever
merciful and provide an
atonement(a sacrifice for us, people
are not suffer GOD’S judgment for
their sin, GOD in his mercy provide

will not leave humanity to perish,
he provide a covering for man’s
wickedness by giving his only
begotten son, he provide before the
world ever created he planned

diligently and constantly endeavors
to follow after righteousness and
mercy ,to give to GOD and man
their due and to show love to them

himself length of days power to live
more and more uprightly, and
present honor from GOD and GOD
and man for so doing, in a high
sense he will gain life eternal now
and hereafter.
PROVERBS 28:13
WHOSO CONFESSETH
AND FORSAKETH THEM
SHALL HAVE MERCY
PROVERBS 28:13
(13)He that covereth his sins shall not
prosper; but whoso confesseth and
forsaketh them shall have mercy
HE THAT COVERETH HIS SINS SHALL
NOT PROSPER
The foolish hide their sins and do
not prosper, the wise confess their
sin and receive mercy, we will never
move ahead in life unless we deal
with our sins, we deal by our sin
first by recognizing sin,
acknowledge it as such, and admit
it to GOD, for our sin to be forging it
must be accompanied with
repentance , a genuine repentance
and a change of heart that result a
change of conduct, in order for
mercy to be extended to us
PSALM 37;21
THE RIGHTEOUS
SHOWETH MERCY, AND

he keep his anger for ever
(10) he hath not dealt with us after our
sins; nor rewarded us according to our
iniquities
THE LORD IS MERCIFUL AND
GRACIOUS, SLOW TO ANGER

(11) For as the heaven is high above the
earth, so great is his mercy towards them
that fear him

FOR HE SHALL HAVE
JUDGMENT, WITHOUT

CONSIDERETH THE
POOR

poor; the LORD will deliver him in time of
trouble
(2) The LORD will preserve him and keep
him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the
earth; and thou wilt not deliver him unto
the will of his enemies
(3) The LORD will strengthen him upon
the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all
his bed in his sickness
BLESSED IS HE THAT CONSIDERETH
THE POOR THE LORD WILL DELIVER
HIM IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE
MATHEW 9:13
I WILL HAVE MERCY
NOT SACRIFICE
MATHEW 9:13
(13) But go ye and learn what that
meaneth, I will have mercy, and not
sacrifice; For I am not come to call the
righteous, but sinners to repentance
BUT GO YE AND LEARN WHAT
THAT MEANETH I WILL HAVE
MERCY NOT SACRIFICE
MATHEW 12:7
I WILL HAVE MERCY
AND NOT SACRIFICE
MATHEW 12:7
(7) But if ye had known what this
meaneth I will have mercy, and not
sacrifice, ye would not have condemned
the guiltless
BUT IF YOU KNOW WHAT THIS
MEANETH I WILL HAVE MERCY
ROMANS 9:15-16
1 WILL HAVE MERCY
ON WHOM I WILL HAVE
MERCY
ROMANS 9:15-16
(15) For he saith to Moses, I will have
mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I
will have compassion on whom I will have
compassion
(16) So then it is not of him that
willeth, nor him that runneth, but GOD
that showeth mercy
I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I
WILL HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL
HAVE COMPASSION

obtained mercy
