  PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Messiah was to bring to
them, which includes
salvation, for the body, soul,
and spirit, salvation from
sin,, sickness, demons, and
Satanic powers, there are
family rights, promised
rights, Divine rights of all
children of GOD, while the
children can have the whole
loaf , while dogs Gentile
can have the crumbs
The children are the Jews
the Dogs are the Gentiles,
the Jews are GOD’S
children, a people whom
GOD gave many privileges;
it is his will the Gospel
should be first preached to
them, and then the Gentiles
, this was the name applied
by the Jews to all outside
the chosen race, the Jews
considered themselves as
the special children of GOD,
to all other nations they
were accustomed to apply
dog to Gentile ,
TRUTH, LORD YET THE
DOGS EAT OF THE CRUMBS
The woman acknowledged
her position as underserving
and without legal covenant
right to the children’s bread,
yet she used the LORD’S
own word’s concerning dogs
as ground for further claim
for healing, even dogs have
rights to the crumb that the
master throws away, and
would give to them,,
children have enough bread
to spear, so she claimed the
scraps for her daughter and
won the case, Christ could
not turn down great faith.18
The woman said, what you
say is true, let it be that the
best food should be given to
the children, let the Jews
have the chief benefit of the
ministry; but the dogs
beneath the table eat the
crumbs, so let me be
regarded as a dog, a pagan,
as, unworthy of everything,
I am a dog, a poor heathen,
no proper member of the
household of GOD; and it is
truth that it seems
unreasonable that I, being a
dog, should be served
before the children of GOD
are filled, but I beg but a
crumb of mercy for myself
and my poor sick daughter
Her humility; she owned
herself as a dog
Again JESUS had to move
the woman forward in faith
and in trust and clear
understanding of just who
he is: the LORD and the
Master of everyone’s, not
just for the Jews:
  •  Her modesty: she begs
for the crumbs from the
table.
  •  She suggests that
though the Gentile
were dogs, and she one
of them; yet their
common LORD
JESUS and Master had a
suitability in them, and they
in him; and were to be
maintained and feed, and
ought to live, though not in
such fulness of favors and
blessing, as the Jews the
children of GOD; nor did she
desire their affluence, only
that a crumb of mercy
might be given her that her
poor daughter might be
healed
By this we learn our duty
in prayer, to go to GOD
humbly, to implore him
modestly, and to be instant
in prayer.
O WOMAN, GREAT IS THY
FAITH
As one surprised at the
strength of her faith and the
design of grace, and great
admiration of her saying, O
woman
Great is thy faith, he seems
surprised, that she is a
woman, and a poor Gentile
expressing such strong faith
in him, calling him LORD,
owning him to be the
Messiah, worshipping him
as GOD, believing him able
to do what could not be
done by human art; and
though she met with such
repulses, and even called a
dog, yet still continued
persistence with him,
believing she will succeed:
and he said unto her, o
woman for this saying ,
showing the greatness of
her faith , be it unto thee as
thou will ,go thy way, the
devil is gone out of thy
daughter and when she
was come to her house, she
found the devil gone out
The answer of the woman
changed the condition of
the problem, she had
conquered; she gained her
wish, her daughter was
made whole from that very
hour, power went forth
from CHRIST, and

dispossessed the devil; so
that when she came home
according. to
MARK 7:30 observed, she
found her daughter lying on
the bed, quiet and easy,
perfectly well.
HER PRAYER WAS
Short, humble, fervent,
desperate, rational,
respectful, worshipful,
persevering, determined
MARK 10:46-52

the son of Timaeus, sat by

begging
47)And when he heard that
it was JESUS of Nazareth, he
began to cry out, and say,
JESUS, thou son of David,
have mercy on me
48)And many charged him
that he should hold his

of David have mercy on me

and commanded him to be

JESUS
51)And JESUS answered
and said unto him, what wilt

BARTIMAEUS SAT BY THE
HIGHWAY BEGGING
And they came to Jericho
CHRIST and his disciples, on
their way to Jerusalem:
where CHRIST met with
Zacchaeus and converted
him, and after some short
stay at his house, departed
thence and as he went out
of Jericho with his disciples
a great number of people
followed him and blind
Bartimaeus sat by the way
side,, he was not only blind
but also a beggar , he heard
of JESUS and his miracles,
and learning that he was
passing by, with multitude
of people noise passing
Bartimaeus had been blind
for years, maybe no hope of
seeing, he had heard about
and from that day, he
hoped and longed for the
chance when JESUS might
pass by, because he
believed in the testimonies
about JESUS, sitting there
on the road side as JESUS
passed by, he had no way to
know it was JESUS, he could
not see him, he could only

52)And JESUS said unto
him, Go thy way; they faith
hath made thee whole, and
immediately he received his
sight, and followed JESUS in
the way
hear people walking and
talking, when he heard that
it was JESUS passing, all
Bartimaeus ever had was
what he heard, he had
never seen or been around
JESUS, he only knew the
testimony people were
sharing: JESUS about his
miracles and as the Messiah
the SON of David, and he
believed the testimonies
As soon as Bartimaeus
heard that it was JESUS, he
immediately began shouting
out to draw the attention
so as to attract JESUS,
creating as much concern
and noise as he could above
the crowd, because
Bartimaeus have a
desperate need, and
needed help from JESUS no
matter what.
He shouted to the SON of
David, what he had of JESUS
as his hope, his savior, his
delivered, for shouted for
Mercy,
MANY REBUKED HIM, THAT
HE SHOULD HOLD HIS
PEACE
And many charged him that
he should hold his peace
and be silent, and not call
the son of David, but he
cried the more a great deal:
he lifted up his voice more
loudly and repeated the
same words quicker and
often, and with greater
vehemency and persistency.
He would not be
discouraged, silenced or
stopped, he repeatedly
cried to the top of his lungs,
, he was persistent , he had

need and he would not stop
seeking to have his need
met, his faith in JESUS was
strong, he believed JESUS
would really help him, his
faith stood against all
discouragers and discontent
voice,
AND COMMAND TO BE
CALLED
And JESUS stood still , in
the fulness of his
compassionate heart,
hearing his voice, and
knowing what charges and
reproofs were given him to
be silent and commanded
him to be called and led and
brought unto him: this
order was given either to his
disciples, JESUS had to send
for the man and they called
the blind man,, saying unto
him, be of good comfort,
rise, he called thee, it
suggests that some hope
might be conceived from
thereafter , that some
things would be done in his
favor
The man threw aside his
garment, of his own
righteousness, should have
full faith in the power of
JESUS and cast himself
entirely upon his mercy
which is cast aside all
impediments, laying aside
the old man, as to the
former conversation, being
called by a Holy GOD, with
Holy calling every weight
not only sins, but
Bartimaeus, wanted nothing
to hinder him from reaching
JESUS , he had not seen
JESUS miracles but he

responded with faith, what
he had heard ,as quickly as
he could, he sprang to his
feet, and moved towards
JESUS our sight giver, and
allowed nothing to hinder
him or hamper him from
reaching JESUS.
AND JESUS ANSWERED
AND SAID UNTO HIM
WHAT WILL I DO FOR YOU
And JESUS answered and
said unto him, what wilt
thou that I should do unto
thee? What means this
vehement cry? What is it
that desired mercy?
JESUS question, he already
knew what Bartimaeus the
blind man wanted, but he
wanted the blind man to
experience persistence, why
does JESUS CHRIST teach
persistence instead of just
meeting our needs
immediately:
  •  Having to persistent
sharpens and makes us
more aware of our
minds, it gives us more
time for thought and
meditation and for the
searching of the truth
about ourselves and our
needs
  •  Having persistence is to
sharpens, increase, and
grows our faith, it
teaches endurance,
experience, victorious
living and hope
  •  Having to persist or
persevere teaches us to
pray and to seek GOD,
more, it creates more
awareness of our
helplessness and our
needs for his presence
and help, it necessitates
more fellowship and
deep communion with
him
  •  Having persistence
gives us more part in
GOD’S work and
worship and deep
communication with
him
  •  Having persistence
allows more time for
greater to be reached
with GOD’S power
Bartimaeus knew exactly
what he needed and had no
difficulty stating his need,
he did not waver at all, he
had examined himself and
knew precisely what he
needed, not money, not
house , not wealth.
Bartimaeus said unto him,
LORD: Rabboni” or Rabbi
thou great Master of Israel
and LORD, of the whole
world, my request to thee,
and which thou, art, able to
effects is, that I might
receive my sight.
AND JESUS SAID UNTO HIM
GO THY WAY THY FAITH
HATH MADE THEE WHOLE
JESUS said unto him go thy
way, receive thy sight, be it
unto thee as thou has
desire, go thy way to thine
own house and about your
business; thy request is
granted
Thy faith hath made thee
whole and save thee; and
which respect not only the
power of CHRIST in
restoring his sight, but his

faith in JESUS CHRIST as the
Messiah, the son of David,
so he was saved, both in
soul and body; and he
received spiritual sight, and
his physical sight from
CHRIST and immediately
received his sight, saw
again.
What JESUS told
Bartimaeus “GO” but
Bartimaeus did not go, not
after he had received his
sight, he cleaved to JESUS,
nothing will put him away
from following CHRIST, he
followed along the way:
that is to Jerusalem,
following him as his leader
and the LORD of salvation,
as the Shepard of the flock,
as his guide as the light of
the world.
There are thing to learn:
1. There is the idea of
genuine of conversion,
he followed through
2. There is the heart of
appreciation, of being
grateful and thankful
3. There is the testimony
of loyalty and
faithfulness
4. There is the idea to
learn more and more
and grow in the
knowledge of LORD of
salvation
This illustrate that sinner
should come to CHRIST he
should throw away the
garment of sin, the old man
of self-righteousness and
arise speedily, run with joy
and have full faith in the
power of JESUS CHRIST and
cast himself entirely upon
his mercy
LUKE 17:12-19
12) And as he entered into
a certain village, there met
him ten men that were
lepers, which stood afar off
13)And they lifted up their
voices, and said, JESUS,
Master, have mercy on us
14) And when he saw them,
he said unto them, go show
yourselves unto the priests,
and it came to pass, that, as
they went, they were
cleansed
15)And one of them, when
he saw that he was healed,
turned back, and with a
loud voice And glorified
GOD
16)And fell down on his
face at his feet, giving him
thanks: and he was a
Samaritan
17)And JESUS answering
said, were there not ten
cleansed? But where are the
nine?
18)There are not found that
returned to give glory to
GOD, save this Stanger
19) And he said unto him,
Arise go thy way; thy faith
hath made thee whole
THERE MET HIM TEN MEN
THAT WERE LEPERS
They were in his way, as he
was entering the village, he
met ten men that were
lepers , who either were
confined to this place, this
village, for they might not
be in the large cities; and
walled towns, they were not
allowed to enter the village
while they were afflicted
with the leprosy, they stood
afar of at a distance, as they
were required by law
LEV.13:46 he is unclean; he
should dwell alone: without
the camp shall his
habitation
JESUS was travelling and
having had that JESUS of
Nazareth was going to such
place, got together, and met
him as he entered in with
hope of being cured by him,
seeing him and knowing him
and knowing that they are
unclean, they stopped and
turn aside, so that they
might not expose others to
the contagion,
AND THEY LIFTED UP THEIR
VOICE SAID JESUS HAVE
MERCY ON US
Together and cried aloud,
being at a distance, that
they might be heard; and as
well as to express their
fervent desire, and great
request to be cleansed and
they said JESUS Master in
Israel: who art a teacher
that come from GOD, and
who dost surprising miracles
, and art able to cure us
have mercy on us: and
cleanse us from our leprosy;
we believe thou art able, if
thou will; show compassion
to us,
There was humility; they
stood at a distance they
respect the law which was
demanded, they were many
yards away,
There was a cry for mercy,
as they called JESUS Master,
which means one who has
power to met their needs of
healing by cleansing of their
physical bodies and the
spiritual sin which had
caused their disease, they
cried out for mercy, they did
not ask for only physical
healing but also spiritual
healing, they were
persistence , JESUS did not
notice them immediately ,
he ignore their cry to test
their faith
GO SHEW YOURSELVES
UNTO THE PRIEST
By the command he gave
them implied assurance
that they would be healed:
for which they were to go,
was to exhibit the evidence
that they were restored,
and to obtain permission
from the priest to mingle
again in society, it was
observed that this required
no small measure of faith on
their part, for he did not
first heal them, and then
tell them to go: he told
them to go without
expressly assuring them to
go; without expressly
assuring that they would be

healed, and without any
evidence to show to the
priest,
There was believing and
obeying, JESUS did not heal
the lepers immediately , and
saw what a condition they
were in, his compassion
moved towards them to the
following, there were things
they had to do, instructions
that had to be obeyed, to
have their needs met, they
were to obey the law, the
ceremonial law in LEVITICUS
14:2, go to the priest and
report that they had been
cleansed, was CHRIST that
the ceremonial law, which
was as yet in force, might be
strictly observed: though
these ten lepers could not
be viewed and examined by
the priest together, but one
after the other according to
the tradition of the JEWS so
careful if they obey the law
and believe the LORD’S
word, of the promise of
cleansing, they would be
cleansed that as they went,
they were cleansed; before
they came to the priest,
while they were on their
way, they at once found
themselves cleansed and
entirely healed of their
leprosy; as CHRIST very
likely gave them reason to
believe they should;
whereby his power was
seen in it, it was a clear
case, that it was owning
JESUS miraculous power,
and not the priests that they
had their leprosy cleansed.
All the lepers were blessed
and healed because the
healing took place when
they had obeyed and
started their journey to
fulfilled the command of
JESUS CHRIST, before
getting to the priest and
should be thankful, every
one of the ten should have
turn back and give thanks,
they had all been healed
and blessed by CHRIST they
all recognized their needs,
showed sense of humility,
cried for mercy, persistence
and believed, their needs
had been met: they all been
healed, they now need to
turn back to give thanks and
show appreciation
ONE OF THEM, SAW THAT
HE WAS HEALED TURNED
BACK TO GLORIFY GOD
One a Samaritan being the
only stranger , this foreigner
or alien, this man who one
is of foreign nation
expressed among the ten ,
was so affected, that, with
heart full of gratitude and
joy he immediately turned
back, and with a loud voice ,
Made a free and open
acknowledge of the signal of
mercy which he had
received, he praised GOD
immediately, he shouted at
the top of his lung with the
loudest voice possible, he
witnessed of GOD that GOD
has cleansed him and he
wanted all to know the
great mercy of GOD and the
love of GOD, he worshipped
JESUS that he fell down on
his face at the feet of JESUS,

this was both humility and
recognition of GOD’S power
in JESUS CHRIST
THY FAITH HATH MADE
THEE WHOLE
And he said unto him, arise
for, as yet, he lay at his feet
upon his face, adoring and
parsing him; nor did he
attempt to rise till JESUS bid
him, GO thy way; to thine
country, town or city and to
their friend and relation,
and about thy business, thy
faith hath made thee whole
or saved thee in soul, as
well as body, that is the
object of faith saved him for
his salvation is ascribed to
his faith even both physical
and spiritual salvation
The thankful leper shall be
the one that is truly saved
spiritually “made well” he
was clearly made whole in
body, this could easily be
seen, JESUS was telling the
man that his sins are
forgiven, he was given the
man the assurance of
salvation, the grateful and
thankful leper, was the man
among the ten lepers, who
was given the assurance of
being cleansed and having
his sin forgiving, the other
did not, they failed to be
grateful and thankful.
