AND HE DID THAT WAS EVIL
IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD
2) And he did that which was
evil in the sight of the LORD
after the abominations of the
heathen, whom the LORD
cast out before the children
of Israel
3) For he built up again the
high places which Hezekiah
his father had destroyed; and
he reared up Altars for Baal,
and made grove, as did Ahab
king of Israel; and worshiped
all the host of heaven, and
serve them
4) And he built altars in the
house of the LORD, of which
the LORD said, in Jerusalem
will I put my name
5) And he built altars for all
the host of Heaven in the
two courts of the house of
the LORD
6) And he made his son pass
through the fire, and
observed times, and used
enchantments, and dealt
with familiar spirits and
Wizards: he wrought much
wickedness in the sight of the
LORD to provoke him to
anger
7) And set a graven image of
grove that he had made in
the house, of which the LORD
said to David, and to
Solomon his son, in this
house, and in Jerusalem
which I have chosen out of
the land which tribes of
Israel, will put my name for
ever

TEMPLE OF THE LORD
GODLY REFORM
4) And the King commanded
Hilkiah the high priest, and
the priests of the second
order, and the keepers of the
door, to bring forth out of
the temple of the LORD all
the vessels that were made
for Baal, and for the grove,
and for all the host of
Heaven: and he burned them
without Jerusalem in the
fields of kidron, and carried
the ashes of them unto
Bethel
5) And he put down the
idolatrous priests, whom the
kings of Judah had ordained
to burn incense in the high
places in the cities of Judah,
and in the places that burned
incense unto Baal, to the
planets, and to all the host of
heaven
6) And brought out the
grove from the house of the
LORD, without Jerusalem,
unto the brook kidron, and
burned it at the brook
Kidron, and stamped it small
to powder, and cast the
powder thereof upon the
groves of the children of the
people
7) And he break down the
houses of the sodomites,
that were the women wove
hangings for the grove
8) And he brought all the
priests out of the cities of
Judah, and defiled the high
places where the priests had
burned incense, from Geba
to Beer-sheba, and brake
down the high places of the
gates that were in the
entering in of the gate of
Joshua the governor of the
city, which were on a man’s
left hand at the gate of the
city
10) And he defiled Topheth,
which is in the valley of the
children of Hinnom, that no
man might make his son
orhis daughter to pass
through the fire to Molech

idols of Canaan; and the land
was polluted with blood
39) thus were they defiled
with their own works, and
went a whoring with their
own inventions
40) Therefore was the wrath
of the LORD kindled against
his people, insomuch that he
abhorred his own inheritance
41) And he gave them into
the hand of the heathen; and
they that hated them ruled
over them
42) their enemies also
oppressed them, and they
were brought into subjection
under their hand

14) And the anger of the
LORD was hot against
Israel,and he delivered them
into the hands of spoilers
that spoiled them, and he
sold them into the hand of
their enemies round about,
so that they could not any
longer stand before their
enemies

AWAY THE CHILDREN OF
ISRAEL TO BABYLON
JEREMIAH 25:2-13
2) The which Jeremiah the
prophet spake unto all the
people of Judah, and to all
the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
saying
3) From the thirteenth year
of Josiah the son Amon King
of Judah, even unto this day,
that is the three and
twentieth year, the word of
the LORD hath come onto
me, and I have spoken unto
you, rising early and
speaking, but ye have not
hearkened
4) And the LORD hath sent
unto you all his servants the
prophets, rising early and
sending them; but ye have
not hearken, nor inclined
your ear to hear
5) They said turn ye again
now every one from his evil
of way, and from the evil of
your doings and dwell in the
land that the LORD hath
given unto you and to your
fathers for ever and ever
6)And go not after other
gods to serve them, and to
worship them, and provoke
me not to anger with the
works of your hands and I
will do you no hurt
7) Yet ye have not hearkened
unto me, saith the LORD;
that ye might provoke me to
anger me to anger with the
works of your hands to your
own hurt
8) Therefore thus saith the
LORD of host; because ye
have not heard my words,
9) Behold, I will send and
take all the families if the
north, saith the LORD, and
Nebuchadnezzar the King of
Babylon, my servant, and,
and will bring them against
this land, and against the
inhabitants thereof, and
against all these nations
round about, and will utterly
destroy them, and make
them an astonishment, and a
hissing, and perpetual
desolations
10) Moreover I will take
from them the voice of mirth,
and the voice of gladness,
the voice the bridegroom,
and the voice bride, the
sound of the millstone and
the light of the candle
11) And this whole land shall
be a desolation, and an
astonishment, and these
nations shall serve the king of
Babylon seventy years
12) And it shall come to pass,
when seventy years are
accomplished, that I will
punish the king of Babylon,
and that nation, saith the
LORD, for their iniquity, and
the land of the Chaldeans,
and will make it perpetual
desolation
13) And I will bring upon that
land all my words which I
have pronounced against it,
even all that is written in this
book, which Jeremiah hath
prophesied against all the
nations

12) And he did that which
was evil in the sight of the
LORD his GOD, and humbled
not himself before Jeremiah
the prophet, speaking from
the mouth of the LORD
13) And he also rebelled
against King
Nebuchadnezzar, who had
made him swear by GOD; but
he stiffened his neck, and
hardened his heart from
turning unto the LORD GOD
of Israel
14) Moreover all the chief of
the priests, and the people,
transgressed very much after
all the abominations of the
heathen and polluted the
house of the LORD which he
had hallowed in Jerusalem
15)And the LORD GOD of
their fathers sent to them by
his messengers, rising up
betimes, and sending;
because he had compassion
on his people, and on his
dwelling place.
16) But they mocked the
messengers of GOD, and
despised his words, and
misused his prophets, until
the wrath of the LORD arose
against his people, till there
was no remedy
17) Therefore he brought
upon them the King of the
Chaldees, , who slew their
young men with the sword
in the house of their
sanctuary and had no
compassion upon young men
and maiden, old man, or him
that stooped for age: he gave
them all into his hand
18) And all the vessels of the
house of GOD, great and
small and treasures of the
house of the LORD, and the
treasures of the king, and of
his princes; all these he
brought to Babylon
19) And they burnt the
house of GOD, and break
down the wall of Jerusalem,
and burnt all the palaces
thereof with fire, and destroy
all the goodly vessels thereof
20) And them that had
escaped from the sword
carried carried he away to
Babylon; where they were
servants to him and his sons
until until the reign of the
Kingdom of persia

11) Now Nebuchadnezzar
King of Babylon gave charge
concerning Jeremiah to
Nebuzar-adan the captain of
the guard , saying
12) Take him, and look well
to him, and do him no harm;
but do unto him even as he
shall say unto thee
13) So Nebuzar-adan the
captain of the guard sent,
and Nebushasban Rab-saris,
and Nergal-sharezer, Rab
mag, and all the King of
Babylon’s princes;
14) Even they sent, and took
Jeremiah out of the court of
the prison, and committed
him unto Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam the son of Shaphan,
that he should carry him
home: so he dwelt among
the people
