COMMENTARY
The big sin of the world: is
Desiring more and more,
show that the greedy man is
aggressively self-centered
,extravagant living and
materialistic :
WORLDLINESS, SELFISHNESS
INDULGENCE

YOU CANNOT SERVE GOD
AND MAMMON:
Wealth/ money and GOD
24)No man can serve two
master: for either he will
hate the one and love the
other, or else he will hold to
the, and despise the other.

Desire money more than the
kingdom of GOD and its
righteousness (the danger of
accumulation of wealth)

COMMENTARY
Covetousness, according to
apostle Paul in C olossian 3:5
is Idolatry worshiping
wealth/ money

Thou shall take no bribe, the
corrupt administration of
justice was one of the crying
evil which provoke GOD’S
judgment against his people

The expression shows that is
a sin to desire or feel an

by pride and boosting of their

A CONSPIRACY: a contrive
among the prophets to speak
all flattering, smooth words,
and give out promise of
peace and safety when there
is no peace,
THEY HAVE DEVOURED
SOULS: Have eat up,
impoverished, and sucked
dry, men
TAKEN THE TREASURE: the
prophets/priest drain
people of their riches by fake
prophesy

31) And they come unto
thee as the people cometh,
and they sit before thee as

them for with their mouth

THEIR HEART GOETH AFTER
THEIR COVETOUSNESS: their
desire, love and care is about
their gain, how to make
thriving bargains, how to
place out and secured their
money with religious
semantics

COVET FIELDS OF POOR:
They covet and take bY
violence; houses, tear,
devour and swallow up the
poor man and his heritage

11) The heads thereof judge
for reward, and the priests

GREED- Covetousness a
craving, desire for more, it is
greediness, a dissatisfaction
with what is enough.

material things and fleshly
indulgence

EXERCISING COVETOUSNESS
AND EXTORTION: B y virtue
of their ecclesiastical power
or influence, persuading
widows to give them their
estate, while by their long
prayer they were raised
above filthy lucre
*liberally, under long
praying, and double
wickedness in them: they
devour widows goods under
the pretense of godliness
