PRACTICAL APPLICATION

MATTHEW 19:23-24
23)Then said JESUS unto his
disciples, Verily I say unto
you, that a rich man shall
hardly enter into the
kingdom of heaven
24)And again I say unto you,
it is easier for a camel to go
through the eye of a needle,
than for a rich man to enter
into the kingdom of GOD
THE DANGER OF RICHES
JESUS took the rich young
ruler’s rejection of
distribution of his possession
that limit him, which is a god
to him, and warned all men
about the danger of wealth.
*The danger is that wealth
entangling and enslaving that
it was extremely difficult for
a rich man to be saved.
*The danger that the
wealth/riches face are real
and terrible, so the warning,
the fact that riches pull a
person from the kingdom of
Heaven is very difficult for a
rich man who worship money
and have trust on his riches
will never enter the kingdom
of GOD
*There is a lure, an
attraction, a force, power , a
pull that reaches out to draw
us when we look at our
possession wealth, there
pulls so forceful that they will
enslave and doom any rich
man who fails to turn and
embrace GOD
THE WORLDLY DECEPTION
OF RICHES
The wealthy are usually
esteemed, honored, and
envied, wealth bring comfort,
possession, position, power,
and recognition , boost ego
and make one self-sufficient,
independent and need
nothing but leave in the
atmosphere of world of
thought that GOD is
forgotten.
A person forgets that there
are things that money cannot
buy and events from which
money cannot save, peace,
love, joy all that is matter in
the spirit of man cannot be
bought with money, save
man from trouble, disaster,
disease, accident or death
and the various trial that are
sure to come.
Wealth makes a person to
hoard
The world is full of desperate
people who are starving, sick,
homeless, unclothed, and
suffering by the millions and
are spiritually lost and
without GOD in this world
and doomed to die without
ever knowing him
GOD LAY DOWN PRINCIPLE
FOR HANDLING MONEY FOR
ALL MEN EVEN THE POOR
MATTHEW 19:21
JESUS answered, if you want
to be perfect, go sell your
possessions and give to the
poor, and you will have
treasure in heaven the come
and follow me
LUKE 12:33
Sell that ye have, and give
alms; provide yourselves bag
which wax not old a treasure
in the heavens that faileth
not, where no thief
approacheth, neither moth
corrupt
1 TIMOTHY 6:17-18
17)Charge them that are rich
in this world, that they be not
high-minded, nor trust in
uncertain riches, but in the
living GOD who giveth us
richly all things to enjoy
18)That they rich in good
works, ready to distribute,
willing to communicate
EPHESIANS 4:28
Let him that stole steal no
more; but rather let him
labor. Working with his
hands the thing which is
good, that he may have to
give to him that needeth

He answereth and saith unto
them, he that hath two coats,
let him impart to him that
hath none; and he that hath
meat let him do likewise

other; or else he will hold to
the one and despise the
other ye cannot serve GOD
and mammon
14)And the Pharisees also
who are covetous heard all
these things; and they
derided (ridiculed) him
SERVING GOD AND RICHES
MONEY:
Believers cannot serve two
masters; he must choose
GOD or Money.
There are two masters in this
world, either GOD or the
things and money of this
world, he either give himself
to one or the other:
*He focuses himself upon
the thing and money of the
world or upon GOD
*He turns himself over to
the things and money of the
world or GOD
*He gives his time, energy,
and effort to the things of
the world or to GOD, he
allows his worldly activities
to control him or JESUS
CHRIST to control his pursuits
A person struggles against
GOD or else he struggles
against things and money of
the world
THE PHARISEE ALSO WHO
ARE COVETOUS
The false religionist could
not believe what JESUS was
saying that a man’s energy
and effort in seeking and
looking for money was
wrong, that a man could not
seek money and at the same
time keep his mind and
thought upon GOD, it is
impossible to concentrate on
both
JESUS demand total
allegiance, all of one’s mind
and thoughts energy and
effort on GOD
The religionist who are
covetous turned up their
nose at him, despised the
doctrine that show them
about the love of money.
MARK 10:23-24
23)And JESUS looked round
about, and saith unto his
disciples, how hardly shall
they that have riches enter
into the kingdom of GOD
24)And the disciples were
astonished at his words but
JESUS answereth again, and
saith on to them, children,
how hard is it for them that
trust in riches to enter into
the kingdom of GOD
HOW HARD TO THEM THAT
TRUST IN RICHES ENTER THE
KINGDOM OF GOD
It is hard for those who trust
in their riches, set their heart
upon them, and place their
hope and happiness in them
riches (money) and it will be
with great difficulty, or
impossibility of such,
entering into the kingdom of
GOD
For the unbeliever reluctant
to part with riches and use
them for the glory of GOD by
helping the needy and the
world ravaged with disease,
homeless, poverty, etc.

LAY NOT FOR YOUR SELF
TREASURES UPON EARTH
Wealth and Materialism
Where is our heart, focuses
on earth, the concern of
JESUS CHRIST is MONEY,
Possessions and Materialism,
things we must guide against,
centering our lives around it
House,, cars, land,, building
all thing that make up
security and wealth on this
earth
The reason is that nothing
on this earth is secured and
lasting, it is aging, decaying,
and wasting away, it is all
corruptible and temporal
Any thing that dominates a
person’s life and hold it fast
to this earth
Earthly riches are insecure, as
they;
  • They can be stolen or eaten up
  • They do not last, they waste away
  • A person cannot take a single thing with him when he passes from the world
TREASURE IN HEAVEN
Are good works or character
form by them:

22) He also that receive seed
among the thorns is he that
heareth the word; and the
care of this world, and
deceitfulness of riches, choke
the word and he cometh
unfruitful
THE DECEITFULNESS OF
RICHES CHOKE THE WORD
And the lust of other things
entering in, choke the word
with care and riches and
pleasure of this life, the lust
of the eye , the lust of flesh,
and the pride of life
The desire to possess more
wealth, desire of our heart to
covet, fame, house, cars.
LUKE 6:24
24)But woe onto that are
rich! For ye have received
your consolation
JUDGMENT ON
MATERIALISM
The Judgment of those who
follow materialism, strong to
riches.
If a man centers his life upon
the things of the world, his
attention is on the world not
on GOD, he more concern is
to possession, power, fame,
cars, house, position
Why are riches warned?
Because wealth, there is a
lure, an attraction, a force, a
power, a pull that reach out
and draws any one who look
at possession away from the
kingdom of heaven.
LUKE 12:15
15)And he said unto them,
Take heed, and beware of
covetousness; for a man’s life
consisteth not in the
abundance of the things
which he possesseth
THE BIG SIN OF THE WORLD
GREED- COVETOUSNESS-a
desire for more, it is
greediness, disaffection with
what is enough, desiring
material things and fleshy.
*JESUS-warned take heed,
guide against and beware of
covetousness.
*This is the big sin of the
world desiring more and
more
*However, a man’s
happiness and comfort, soul
and body do not depend
upon what he has; many
poor people are happy and
comfortable with healthy
soul and bodies. life those
not consist of what he
possess.
LUKE 12:16-21
16)And he spake a parable
unto them, saying, the
ground of a certain rich man
brought forth plentifully;
17)And he thought within
himself, saying, what shall I
do, because I have no room
where to bestow my fruits?
18)And he said, this will I do,
I will pull down my barns,
and build greater; and there
will I bestow all my fruits and
my goods
19)And I will say to my soul,
Soul, thou hast much goods
laid up for many years; take
thine ease eat, drink, and be
merry
20)But GOD said unto him
thou fool, this night thy soul
shall be required of thee;
then whose shall those things
be, which thou hast
provided?
21)So is he that layeth up
treasure for himself, and is
not rich towards GOD
WORLDLINESS- SELFISHNESS
The greatest sin of man is
greed or covetousness, this is
the big sin of the world
desiring more and more,
however, a man’s happiness
and comfort, soul and body
do not depend upon what he
has; many poor people are
happy and comfortable with
healthy souls and bodies
Life does not consist in
possessions- a beautiful
home, the latest clothes, a
new car, property, money,
wealth
*The big “I” shows that the
greedy man is aggressively
self-centered, the rich man is
all for himself,
*The big mistake of the rich
man is selfishness, self
indulgence, and extravagant
living, he thought of only
himself, of living at ease with
comfort, with out considering
or giving any thought to
helping others, he forgot that
he lived in a needy world that
was lost and dying
He put off living and enjoying
life until he got his
storehouses built.
*Now must socking point: he
only thought these things, he
never did them; they were
only thought of his heart
DEATH AND JUDGMENT
Fear- your life may be
required and demanded to
night
It was GOD who now spoke,
it was GOD who knew the
thoughts of man the man, it
was GOD who knew the man
was to die that very night.
The man’s life was required,
GOD required and demanded
him, the man was called a
fool by GOD, he live as a fool,
lived entirely for himself like
and the left every possession
and penny behind, he took
nothing with him
LAYETH UP TREASURE FOR
HIMSELF
Acquires riches for his own
use- for himself, which is the
characteristic of the covetous
man, it is all for himself, his
plans terminate there, he
lives only for himself, and
acts only with regard to his
own interest
RICH TOWARDS GOD- Has
no inheritance in the
kingdom of GOD- no riches
laid up in heaven, his
world, and he has none foe
GOD.
