PRACTICAL APPLICATION

MATTHEW 20:28
28) Even as the son of man
came not to be ministered
unto, but to minister and give
his life a ransom for many
TO MINISTER
JESUS CHRIST – came to the
people in a form of a servant,
he came not with splendor
and glory, but as a man in
humble life, he labored for
man, and went out doing
good and provided for the
need; practicing self-denial
*But to minster; in the form
of a servant unto by serving
others, going about from
place to place to do good,
both to the body and soul of
men.
*He came forth from the
FATHER, down from heaven,
into the world, by
assumption of human nature,
to minister in the prophetic
office, by preaching the
Gospel, and walking miracles,
and going up and down doing
good
*Greatness is serving others,
the great are they who
minster serve, JESUS CHRIST
was saying the person who
sever is great.
He came not to serve, but to
serve, he has no place to lay
his head ( no house)
TO GIVE HIS LIFE A RANSOM
FOR MANY- a ransom in
exchange for many, certain
loose of life, the price, the
redemptive price paid, he is
the atoning
sacrifice(propitiation) for the
sins of the whole world.
JESUS CHRIST has met the
need and provided the
ransom price for every man
and woman, but everyone
has to accept the offer of the
ransom in their own behalf.
*He died for all in that he
made provision for all to be
saved, he died for many in
that only some who receive
the offer of the ransom are
saved.
JESUS CHRIST sacrificed and
gave himself up as a ransom
for us
MATTHEW 8:19-20
19)And a certain scribe came
and said unto him, Master, I
will follow thee
whithersoever thou goest
20)And JESUS saith unto
him, the foxes have holes,
and the birds of the air have
nests; but the SON of man
hath not where to lay his
head
SELF DENIAL AND SERVICE
JESUS CHRIST- insisted of the
scribe/religionist to count
the cost of the commitment
of discipleship on self- denial
and sacrifice, due the
legalistic tradition of the
scribe and other religionist,
which was greatly
condemned by JESUS.
JESUS knowing his heart, and
the carnal and worldly views
with which he acted is saying
that he did not even have the
normal luxuries that people
have that following him,
demand total abandonment
of self, the surrender of
material goods to follow him.
The religionist who are
covetous are more
concerned with religious
ceremony, rules and rituals
and not concerned about
accepting the LORD giving
and working ever so
diligently in order to give
more, which is distant to
them
*The world took over the
church, the religionist allow
the world to influence them,
they seek material
possession, security and
comfort of this world, they
save, lay up, and insure.
*They ignore the fact that
this world’s wealth fluctuates
up and down and is subject
to collapse ever so quickly
because because of the
expected.
Many are committed but
their commitments are self
Commitments not CHRIST
commitments, which
demand total commitment to
the JESUS CHRIST for him and
his cause
MATTHEW 18:11
11)For the SON of man is
come to save that which was
lost
THE SON OF MAN IS TO
SAVE
11) JESUS came to save the
lost, the son of man to save
who was lost
JESUS CHRIST- willingly and
made himself nothing, left
the glory of heaven.

27)And JESUS looking upon
them saith, with men it is
impossible, but not with
GOD; for with GOD all things
are possible
28)Then peter began to say
unto him, lo, we have left all,
and have followed thee
29)And JESUS answered and
said, verily I say unto you,
there in no man that hath left
house or brethren, or sisters,
or father, lands, for my sake,
and the gospels
30 But he shall receive a
hundredfold now in this time
houses and brethren and
sisters and mothers, and
children, and lands, with
persecutions, and in the
world shall be the last; to
come eternal life
31)But many that first shall
be the last
WEALTH AND SALVATION
GOD alone can save, a rich
man must turn to GOD and
away from the world:
No man has the strength or
know-how to break the
power of seeking things that
control over him, the natural
urge within man is to seek
more and more comfort and
ease of possession, no man
have the power to break that
natural urge, for the
entanglement are too
pleasing and enslaving.
No man can recreate the
soul of a man; no man can
change the soul of man to set
his heart on the things above,
not things of the world but
GOD
SELF DENIAL AND REWARDS
Peter asked about rewards,
for he had just been shocked,
he had seen a rich young
man with enormous wealth,
turn and walk away from
JESUS, the young man
rejected JESUS because he
was not willing to forsake his
wealth and use it to meet
the needs of the poor in the
world, A person must
forsake all to enter heaven,
he must give all to save a
desperate world
Peter was shocked and
stunned, he felt he and the
other disciples had given all
and sense a deep need for
assurance, as PETER say we
have left everything, and
followed you, we have
surrender all to you LORD to
follow you?
The disciple left every
therein for JESUS CHRIST
and the gospel
JESUS laid down GOD
principle of riches is seeking
first the kingdom of GOD and
his righteousness and all
other needs shall be given to
the believer, as the true
believer works so that he
may have enough to give to
others, his only purpose of
working is not only to meet
his needs but to help others
and GOD continue to help
and give him to continue to
spread the gospel
THE REWARD
Leaving everything and
following CHRIST does not
mean the abandoning or
shirking of one’s
responsibility, it means
centering one’s life and
possession upon JESUS
CHRIST and using all one is
and has to serve him and to
meet the needs of the world,
which is putting JESUS
CHRIST first
The true disciple will be
abundantly rewarded, he will
receive a hundred times
what he gives up and
sacrifices and eternal life
REWARD AND PERSECUTION
Believers suffers for
righteousness, the true
disciples/ believers will
receive persecution and
eternal life, a life forever in
heaven
REWARD AND JUDGMENT
JESUS warned that Many
who are first in this world are
going to be placed last, and
there are going to be the last
for ever in life eternity, but
many who are last are going
to be placed first before GOD
for ever

THE SON OF MAN COME TO
SAVE LIFE
JESUS-Mission is not to
destroy life, but to save it,
which was repeated time and
time again
Believers should imitate, in
our spirit JESUS CHRIST, he
came not to destroy but to
save life, we should catch his
spirit to do good to those
who injured one and be kind,
patient and for giving
LUKE 12:37
37)Blessed are those
servants, whom the LORD
when he cometh shall find
watching, verily I say unto
you, that he shall grid
himself, and make them to
sit down to meat, and will
come forth and serve them
The believer is to stay ready
because JESUS CHRIST will
come unexpectedly.
*The believer must not be
careless; get tired of waiting
up, get sleepy be caught off
guard, being to disbelieve.
Must watch: secure, sit up,
stay awake, listen, look, take
notice in the coming of JESUS
CHRIST
*The believer is to stay
ready because JESUS CHRIST
will come when least
expected, no one knows the
time of JESUS CHRIST coming
but the believer must be
prepared if he is to be
blessed
JOHN 13:13-17
13)Ye call me master and
LORD: and ye say well; for so
I am
14)If I then, your LORD and
Master, have washed your
feet; ye also ought to wash
one another’s feet
15)For I have given you an
example, that ye should do
as I have done to you
16)Verily, verily, I say unto
you, the servant is not
greater than his LORD;
neither he that is sent
greater than he that sent him
17)If ye know these things
happy are ye if ye do them
SERVICE AND MINISTERING
The servant of JESUS CHRIST
is to serve others royally and
sacrificially, leading them to
walk in open confession and
to be washed and cleansed
from the dirt of the world
The believer must as a
servant serve others just as
JESUS did by ministering to
the human needs of others
in all humanity,
By the action of JESUS he
taught how to love, and be
ready to serve them even in
the lowest and meanest
office by which we can do
them good and serve one
another
The believer must behave in
a spirit of humility to one
another, to do every kind and
good office, and by love to
serve one another in all
things
JESUS CHRIST is an example
that the believer should
follow in the exercise of
grace, of meekness, humility,
love, patience, and the likes;
and in the discharge of duty
in submission to ordnances.
IF YOU KNOW THESE THINGS
HAPPY ARE YE IF YOU DO
THEM
The duties the believer owe
to one another; the kind
office of love and respect to
each other, the humility,
condescension , and
brotherly love, which ought
to be in them, which JESUS
CHRIST had given as example,
there is happiness in doing
them and it will be better for
him

restore him fourfold

this day is salvation come to
this house; forasmuch as he
also is a son of Abraham
10) For the SON of man is

THE ACT CHARITY AND
JUSTICE
Zacchaeus knew he was a
sinner and readily confessed
his need for the Saviour ,
repented and change his
whole life; he completely
turned away from his sinful
life to GOD and his way of
righteousness, he gave half
of his possessions to the
poor, he did exactly what
JESUS CHRIST had said time
after time, and he did exactly
what the rich young ruler had
refused to do:
LUKE 18:18
He gave back to those whom
he had cheated; he gave four
times what he had taken,
Zaccheaus truly repented, he
was serious about following
JESUS CHRIST and living
righteously
The act of charity and justice
are first fruit of true
repentance, the world, and
the love of it, goes out of the
heart as soon as true love of
JESUS CHRIST comes into it,
the soul knows that it cannot
serve GOD and mammon
MATTHEW 6:24
JESUS CHRIST is the one who
proclaims salvation,
Zacchuaeus repentance
saved him and brought
salvation to his whole
household
JESUS is the one who seeks
and saves the lost
The lost are the ones who are
perishing, being destroyed,
loosing eternal life, and being
cut off from GOD, they are
spiritually destitute
JESUS, is the one who seek
and saves the lost, he is the
one who sought Zacchueas ,
and Zacchaeus put himself in
a position to see JESUS
LUKE 22:27
27)For whether is grater, he
that sitteth at meat, or he
that serveth? Is not he that
sitteth at meat? But I am
among you as he that serveth
GOD ATTITUDE OF
GREATNESS
The LORD’S attitude about
greatness is not to seek to
hold authority nor to LORD it
over people; he does not
seek position for sake of
authority and power, true
greatness is not self-centered
and selfish not worldly
minded.
The truly great person looks
for people to help and ways
to help them, whether at
work, home, play, or church,
he is always seeking those
who need a visit, care,
attention, company, food,
clothing, shelters, money, he
seek for the sake of
ministering

SERVICE AND GREATNESS
The extreme demonstration
of royal service, which is
performed by JESUS CHRIST
who assumed the place of a
servant –Laid aside his
garments, not all his
garments but the upper
ones, that he might better
dispatch the business he was
going to perform the work of
royal service so as not to
impends the operation of
washing.
Humbled and took a
towel, and gridded
himself- which marks
a servant’s position,
and after he had wash
his disciples’ feet, to
wipe them with, and
shows that the son of
man came not to be
ministered unto, but
to minister
JESUS CHRIST assumed the
place of a servant by
condescending to wash his
disciple’s feet, when it was
their proper work and
business to wash his and the
disciple is to do likewise
