EXODUS 3:20-22
|
20) And I will stretch out
my hand, and smite Egypt
with all the wonder which I
will do in the midst
therefore; and after that he
will let you go
21) And I will give this
people favor in the sight of
the Egyptians; and it shall
come to pass, that, when ye
go, ye shall not go empty
22)But every woman shall
borrow of her neighbor, and
of her that sojorneth in her
house, jewels of silver, and
jewels of gold, and raiment:
and ye shall put them upon
your sons, and upon your
daughters; and ye shall spoil
the Egyptians
|
AND I WILL STRETCH OUT
MY HAND AND SMITE
EGYPT WITH ALL THE
WONDERS
God intended to manifest
his mighty power , with
those wondrous plagues,
the amazing effects of his
almighty power, which were
wrought by him in the
midst of Egypt, by which
their land, their rivers, their
persons, and their cattle,
were smitten, and after that
he will let you go: this is
said for their
encouragement that their
faith and patience might
hold out, who otherwise
seeing him as so obstinate
and inflexible, to prove to
Egypt and other nation that
his plan for the coming
Messiah be realized, sin
will be put down , and
man’s dominion restored
AND I WILL GIVE THIS
PEOPLE FAVOR IN THE
SIGHT OF THE EGYPTIANS
Not only will the Egyptians
then let the Israelites go,
but GOD will give them
favor in the eyes of the
Egyptians,
That is, give the Israelites
favor in the sight, a little
before their departure, who
should be ready to do
anything for them by
lending them with they
would desire, being glad to
be at peace with them, or
get rid of them, for whose
sakes they would receive all
those sore calamities.
GOD also plan that his
people should receive just
wage for all their hard labor
before leaving Egypt, they
shall not go empty handed
as foretold by Abraham,
which was prophecy was
now about to be fulfilled
GENESIS 15:14
BORROW SPOIL THE
EGYPTIANS
They deserve back their
wages, but they cannot
were not supposed to take
any thing by force, GOD will
give the Egyptians a
favorable disposition so
when the Israelites ask for
silver , gold and clothing the
Egyptian would give to
them abundantly
It was only what a whole
nation serving without pay
for almost 80 to 100 years
should receive
compensation for their
labors, this implied that the
Egyptians had stripped from
the Israelites their own
Jewels, clothing, and other
riches, which they had when
they were in Egypt, now
they were to get what they
needed and evidently
lacked for travels from
Egypt, it signifies recovery
of that which was taken
away by violence , the
Egyptians would have
refused such request under
ordinary circumstance , but
God gave Israel favor
Moses was to declare
GOD’S power; HIS power to
cause the Egyptians to favor
His people by requesting
from the Egyptians silver,
gold and clothes, from the
Egyptian .
GOD has the power to stir
the people of the world to
favor believers, and have
the power to rectify
injustices of the world
against his people, no
doubt, most of the
possession and valuables of
the Israelites when they
enslave them, as a result of
their enslavement ,the
Israelites would not have
enough food to eat, much
less the right to earn a
|
living, they had no right to
work for money to purchase
clothing and possessions in
order to live a reasonable
and comfortable life, by so
doing, GOD rectify the
injustices

EXODUS 4:1-9
|
1)And Moses answered and
said, but, behold, they will
not believe me, nor hearken
unto my voice: for they will
say, the LORD hath not
appeared unto thee
2)And the LORD said unto
him what is in thine hand?
And he said, a rod
3)And he said, cast it on the
ground, and he cast it on
the ground, and it became a
serpent and Moses fled
from before it
4)And the LORD said unto
Moses, put forth thine
hand, and take it by the tail,
and he put forth his hand,
and caught it, and it became
a rod in his hand
5)That they may believe
that the LORD GOD of their
fathers, the GOD of
Abraham, the GOD of Isaac
and the GOD of Jacob, hath
appeared unto thee
6)And the LORD said
furthermore unto him, put
now thine hand into they
bosom, and he put his hand
into his bosom; and when
he took it out, behold, his
hand was leprous as snow
7)And he said, put thine
hand into thy bosom again,
and he put his hand into his
bosom again and plucked it
out of his bosom and
|
MOSES ANSWERED
BEHOLD THEY WILL NOT
BELIEVE ME
The third argument: Moses
reluctance to under take
the part of leadership he
felt the people will not
believe him, his fear was
personal rejection ,then
Moses answered the LORD
and said, what if they will
not believe me or take
seriously what I say? For
they may say the LORD has
not appeared to you, that
the people would deny his
call and mission , and that
they, that the message of
deliverance and freedom
from slavery was not GOD
will not believe that the
LORD had appeared to him.
Moses means, the would
not take his bare word,
unless he showed them
some sign, he remembered
how they had once rejected
him, and feared it would be
so again, the Israelites will
not listen to him, or believe
in his divine commission,
but it seems to contradict
what GOD had said to him,
that they would hearken to
his voice EXODUS 3:18
The proper duty of the
servant of GOD is to
surrender to GOD”S call and
go and proclaim the
|
behold, it turned again as
his other flesh
8)And it shall come to pass,
if they will not believe thee,
neither hearken to the voice
of the first sign, that they
will believe the voice of the
latter sign
9)And it shall come to pass,
if they will not believe also
these two signs, neither
hearken unto thy voice, that
thou shalt take of the water
of the river, and pour it
upon the dry land; and the
water which thou takest out
of the river shall become
blood upon the dry land
|
message of GOD, but Moses
was still fighting against the
call of GOD, still arguing, still
making up every excuse he
could, he still wants to live
like he wanted, to do his
own thing and live a normal
and comfortable live
It is GOD who quickens the
gospel to hearts and arouse
faith within people to
believe and trust JESUS
CHRIST, the duty of GOD’S
servant is simply to go and
proclaimed the gospel
AND THE LORD SAID WHAT
IS IN THINE HAND
Go reply , GOD himself
would give signs, miraculous
signs that will proves
beyond a doubt that Moses
and his message where
from GOD, and GOD told
Moses what is in your hand,
and Moses said, a rod or
staff, such as shepherds’ use
in the management of their
flocks, for Moses was now
feeding the flock of his
father-in-law, since Moses
did not go to Pharaoh after
the manner of a shepherd
but as with the authority of
a prince or ruler of Israel,
and even with the authority
the ambassador of the GOD
almighty;
GOD gave Moses a personal
demonstration of signs;
The first Sign Moses staff
would be turned into a
snake when cast to the
ground and turned back into
a ,rod when picked up, GOD
told him to cast his rod
(staff) to the ground, as
soon as it hit the ground it
|
|
turned into snake and
Moses jumped back and ran
away, the serpent had been
the constant enemy of the
seed of the woman GENESIS
3:15 and represent the
power of the wicked one
which prevailed in Egypt.
Then GOD telling Moses
to pick the snake by the
tail, a snake -charmer will
usually take up his serpent
by its tail, his courage, as
well as his faith, is shown in
his ready obedience, and
immediately turned back to
a rod, why did GOD choose
to demonstrate his power
over a shepherd’s rod and a
serpent? to symbolize HIS
power and Authority over
Pharaoh and his
government, the snake was
the animal chosen by Egypt
to symbolize its authority
and power just as nations
choose animals as emblems
of their authority and
power, Pharaoh actually
wore the emblem of a snake
on his crown to symbolize
authority the authority of
Egyptian rule, the
conversion of the rod
symbolizes representation
of victory over the kings and
gods of Egypt.
GOD was giving a clear
picture of his sovereignty ,
power, authority and
dominion over the nations
of the world even over the
greatest nation Egypt and
its great ruler, Egypt and its
authority existed only as
GOD willed and allowed,
This signs would, of course,
help convince the people
that Moses was truly sent of
GOD, by giving the sign to
Moses: to stir the elders,
and the people of Israel; for
this miracles was wrought
and believe that Moses and
his message of deliverance
were true and that GOD was
able to deliver them from
their enslavement, The sign
was to convince the elders
and Israelites, in the first
instance, and cause them to
accept the mission of
Moses, it was afterwards to
be exhibited before
Pharaoh.
The second sign: in
continuation of HIS
discourse and gave Moses
another sign , Put now
Moses hand into the
bosom, and he put his hand
into his bosom; within his
coat, under that part of his
garment next to his breast,
behold the hand was
leprous as snow; that is
white sort, and which is
reckoned the worst and
most difficult to cured , this
sign was a symbol of GOD”S
great power over health and
disease, life and death,
Leprosy was one of the
most feared disease in the
ancient world, the purpose
for the second signs: is to
stir belief if the people did
not believe, when the
people saw Moses hand
turned to Leprosy , they
would be asking
themselves, if GOD could
strike a man with Leprosy
within second, what could
be done to the person who
rejected HIS massager and
message of deliverance , a
demonstration of GOD’S
power to control health and
disease, life and death,
would be a strong signs to
stir up believe .
IT WAS TURNED AGAIN AS
HIS FLESH
And GOD told Moses to put
his hand into thy bosom
again with the leprosy on it
and he put his hand into his
bosom again, and plucked it
out of his bosom quickly
after he had put it in: and
behold, it was turned again
as his other flesh: it was
cured of the leprosy, and
covered its color, and was
as sound as before, and as
any other part of his body,
without the use of any
means ; and by the miracles
it confirms the power of
GOD that he can inflict
such disease and so easily
cured, was able to deliver
them out of captivity; which
is as death and Moses
might be a deliverer of his
people, signified by his
weak and leprous hand. Yet
being quicken and
strengthened by the LORD
would be able to answer to
was to exhibit Moses as the
man whom GOD sent had
called to be the leader of
HIS people, and of the
second to show that, as the
messenger of GOD, he was
furnished with the
necessary power for the
execution of this calling in
this sense GOD says, if they
|
||
will not hearken to the voice
of first they will believe the
voice of the latter sign,,
which Moses, which is
believed to be the almighty
power of GOD.
The object of the first sign
had a voice in it
commanding belief that he
was a messenger of GOD,
the first sign respect of rod,
the other his hand
AND IF THEY WILL NOT
BELIEVE THE TWO SIGNS
The third sign- if the two
signs should not be
sufficient to lead the people
to believe in the divine
mission of Moses, he is to
be given the one more
practical demonstration of
the power which he had
received to overcome the
might and gods of Egypt.
He is to take water of the
Nile river and pour it upon
the dry ground, and GOD
and will turn it to blood by
which it appears how easily
the LORD could destroy the
land of Egypt, and make it
barren land, whose fertility
was owing to the overflow
of the river Nile as a means,
the Nile was the life of the
Egypt, providing the water
necessary for both drinking
and agriculture, the Nile is
the primary source of life of
Egypt, who would regard
the Nile as a great divinity,
and would see in the
conversion of Nile water
into blood a significant
indication that the GOD
who had commissioned
Moses was greater than any
Egyptian, if Moses therefore
had power to turn the life
distributing water of the
Nile into blood, he must
have received power to
destroy Pharaoh and his
gods, accordingly, Moses as
not only trusted with the
word of GOD, but also
endowed with the power of
GOD

EXODUS 4:10-13
|
10) And Moses said unto
the LORD, o my LORD, I am
not eloquent, neither
heretofore, nor since that
hast spoken unto thy
servant; but I am slow of
speech and of a slow tongue
11)And the said unto him,
who hath made man’s
mouth? Or who maketh the
dumb, or deaf, or the
seeing, or the blind? Have
not I the LORD?
12)Now therefore go, and I
will be with thy mouth, and
teach thee what thou shalt
say
13)And he said, o my LORD
send, I pray thee, by the of
him whom thou wilt send
|
AND MOSES SAID THE
LORD O MY LORD I AM NOT
ELOQUENT
Moses was still reluctant ,
raised a new objection, he
is not gifted with capability
of speech, he has a
difficulty in uttering them,
he was heavy, or slow of
speech and heavy or slow of
tongue, the forth augment
by Moses, he felt he was
not a gifted speaker that is:
he was not fluent, not
skillful with words, not
having a good and forceful,
persuasive speech or
delivery, he was not smooth
talker nor sugar coated -
tongue , he did not speak
with ease and nervous
when speaking to
individuals , much less to
group of people, words did
not come easily and readily
for him, he was perhaps
tongue tied .
Seems to imply a difficulty
both in finding words and in
giving them utterance, a
very natural result of so
long a period of shepherd’s
life, passed in a foreign land
, not able to deliver thy
message acceptable and
decently, either to Pharaoh
or to the Israelites ,since
THY appearance to me, thou
hast made some changes in
my hand, but none in my
tongue therefore invite this
objection
WHO HATH MADE MAN’S
MOUTH?
GOD could and would have
cured the defect in Moses’
speech, whatever it was;
could and would have
added eloquence to his
other gifts, if he had even at
this point he yielded himself
up unreservedly to accept
the mission, Nothing is too
hard for the LORD, he gave
all power, sight and hearing,
and speech to whom he
will, he would have been
with Moses Mouth
NOW THEREFORE GO, AND
I WILL BE WITH THY
MOUTH
The new objection was
also , but Moses overruled
GOD further promises
Moses that he will be with
his mouth and teach him
always what to say, to
Pharaoh , to the Israelites,
and to Aaron, that was to
speak for him, as is
hereafter observed, that is
to impart to him the
necessary qualification, his
difficulties were now all
exhausted and removed by
the assurance of GOD, and
put words into him and
cause him ton speak readily
and powerfully, and so he
was mighty in words, as well
as in deeds ACTS 7:22 but
Moses, who foresaw the
|
various difficulties of the
undertaken, was anxious to
be freed from the
responsibility, but only
brought to light the secret
reason in his heart, he did
not wish to undertake the
divine mission.
No man has ever been
called to a divine mission
without the anointing of the
spirit to accomplish what he
has been called to do , when
GOD calls us to a task, he
will furnish the means and
ability to fulfill that task.

v JEREMIAH 5:14
v EZEKIEL 3:17
AND HE SAID O MY LORD
SEND I PRAY THEE BY THE
HAND OF WHOM
Moses was not yet convince
that GOD could make him
eloquent and capable of
delivering Israel, he still
wanted GOD to send
someone else, Moses
rejected GOD’S call he ran
out of excuses , he did not
want to go, he actually
begged GOD to send
someone else and pleaded
with GOD to let him out of
HIS mission
v He was rejecting GOD’S
call
v He refused to do what
GOD wanted
v He refused to be GOD
messenger
v He refused to declare
the glorious message of
Salvation and
deliverance to Israel
because he was not a good
speaker.
But GOD looked at Moses’
problem quite differently,
all Moses needed was some
help, and who better than
GOD could help him say and
do the right things GOD
made his mouth and would
give him the words to say,
we as believer should not
focus on our weakness
especially if GOD ask us to
do something, then he will
help us get the job done, if
the job involves our weak
areas, then we can trust
that he will provide words,
strength, courage, and
ability needed.

EXODUS 4:14-17
|
14)And the anger of the
LORD was kindled against
Moses, and he said, is not
Aaron the Levite thy
brother? I know that he can
speak well. And also
behold, he cometh forth to
meet thee; and when he
seeth thee, he will be glad
in his heart
15)And thou shalt speak
unto him, and put words in
his mouth;, and will teach
you what ye shall do
16)And he shall by thy
spokesman unto the people;
and he shall be, even, even
he shall be to thee instead
of a mouth, and thou shalt
be to him instead of GOD
|
AND THE ANGER OF THE
LORD WAS KINDLE
AGAINST MOSES
GOD was displeased, for
the objections, excuses,
and delays he made with
respect to the mission, the
expression was a strong
one, but did not punish the
offender in any way than
to withholding the gift that
he was ready to confer
solely on Moses, and now
divided between two of a
position and a dignity which
Moses might have had all to
himself
Moses will not be allowed
to say anything more ,
Moses was meek and
modest in the estimation of
|
17)And thou shalt take this
rod in thine hand,
wherewith thou shalt do
signs
|
himself that he wore down
the patience of GOD, on
this point, GOD became
angry with him and gave in
to his weakness by sending
Aaron, his brother who was
3 years older, there was no
more arguments Moses
was not allowed to say
anything else, GOD would
still act in mercy towards
Moses, GOD alone now
spoke: GOD finally agreed ,
and said, is not Aaron the
Levite thy brother, he was,
and his Elder brother, he
was born three years before
him EXODUS 7:7 and also,
behold he cometh forth to
meet thee; having had an
intimation from GOD of
Moses’s call to come into
Egypt, and deliver his
people from their bondage,
he immediately set out to
meet him, and when he see
you, he will be glad in his
heart sincerely glad because
of having a sight of his
brother once more, whom
he had not seen for the past
forty years but because of
his coming on such an
errand from GOD to deliver
the people of Israel
GOD promised to give
Moses a helper, his brother
Aaron, to be spokes man,
and GOD also told Moses
that Aaron was on his way
to visit him, Moreover,
Aaron would accept and
rejoice with Moses and his
call by GOD
AND THOU SHALT SPEAK
UNTO HIM AND PUT
WORDS IN HIS MOUTH
Even Aaron that could
speak well, yet could not
speak to purpose, unless
GOD were with his mouth,
without the constant aids of
divine grace, the best gift
will fail, GOD then
Instructed Moses as to the
kind of relationship he was
to have with Aaron, Moses
was to tell Aaron what to
say, who being a man of
words, an eloquent man
and a good spokesman,
would put them into proper
language and express them
fluently ,he is always to
share GOD’S word with
Aaron and GOD would help
both of them speak and
would teach them both
what to do they should say
to Pharaoh and to the
people of Israel.
Aaron was to be the
spokesman to the people,
as a result of speaking
Hebrew and his probable
familiarity with the
Egyptians the very mouth of
Moses to the people; and
Moses was to be as GOD to
Aaron that is, as GOD spoke
man, So that as Aaron was
under Moses, and his
direction, they were both
dependent on the LORD,
and under his direction;
even Aaron that could speak
well, Moses furnished him
with the matter; he put it
into words; and both were
instructed and influenced by
the LORD what they should
say or do.
AND THUS SHALT TAKE
THE ROD IN THINE HAND
|
|
Moses was also to take the
Rod in his hand but the
particular one which had
already once become a
serpent, where thou shalt
do signs that is the signs
which you will have to do,
as already declared in
EXODUS 3:20, it is suppose
that GOD had already
practicalized them to
Moses
|
||
EXODUS 4:18-21
|
18)And Moses went and
returned to Jethro his
father-in-law, and said unto
him, let me go, I pray thee,
and return unto my
brethren which are in Egypt,
and see whether they be yet
alive, and Jethro said to
Moses, go in peace
19)And the LORD said unto
Moses in Midian, Go, return
into Egypt; for all the men
are dead which sought thy
life
20)And Moses took his wife
and his sons, and set them
upon an ass, and he
returned to the land of
Egypt: and Moses took the
rod of GOD in his hand
21)And the LORD said unto
Moses, when thou goest to
return into Egypt, see that
thou do all those wonders
before Pharaoh, which I
have put in thine hand; but I
will harden his heart, that
he shall not let the people
go
|
AND MOSES WENT AND
RETURNED TO JETHRO
And Moses went and
returned to Jethro being in
his service and his father
in-law, it was right to obtain
his consent , with his flock
of sheep he kept and said
let me go, I pray, and return
to my brethren, but he
thought fit to conceal from
him the errand upon which
GOD sent him, lest he
should endeavor to hinder
or discourage him from so
difficult and dangerous and
mission, which were in
Egypt the Israelites, who
were so by nation and
religion; as Jethro had been
kind and beneficent to him,
he did not choose to leave
him without his knowledge
and consent and especially
to take his wife and children
Once Moses obeyed GOD,
after he had begun to make
arrangements to go to
Egypt, GOD gave Moses
great assurance of safety,
security, and protection,
GOD told Moses that the
men who had sought to kill
him, that is he was declared
a wanted man by Pharaoh
he killed an Egyptian official
forty years earlier , and
Pharaoh had put the order
out, that Pharaoh and all
the men looking for him in
Egypt were all dead, that
the coast was clear, there
was no reason to fear.
But GOD is faithful, he is
giving assurance to Moses
there was no need to fear;
he would be safe as he
returned to Egypt, and he
believe and surrender to his
GOD given Call, despite the
execution order that hung
over his head, Moses was
obeying GOD, he was
surrendering to HIS GOD’S
call and going forth to
deliver GOD’S people
MY BRETHREN WHICH ARE
IN EGYPT
By the brethren in Egypt,
considering the oppression
under which they were
suffering at the time of
Moses’ exile , whether his
country men are still living
and had not been
altogether exterminated,
and see whether they are
still alive, and Jethro said to
Moses go in peace; he
judged his request
reasonable, and gave his full
consent to it, and wished
him health and prosperity in
his journey
AND THE LORD SAID UNTO
MOSES IN MIDIAN GO
RETURN INTO EGYPT
Moses appears to have
delayed his departure after
he obtained permission to
go from Jethro, perhaps he
was making it an excuse to
|
himself for not setting out
that if he returned he might
still suffer death on account
of the offence which had
driven him out into exile, to
remove this last
impediment.
GOD assured him, hence
GOD address him “GO”
return to Egypt: that
directly; immediately, for all
the men are dead which
sought thy life; to take it
away, the king of Egypt, and
his ministers, and the
friends of the Egyptian
Moses had killed, and this is
said to encourage him to go.
Moses was obedient to
GOD, fully obedient, that he
set out to make a
permanent move to Egypt:
he took his family with him
which include his wife and
two sons , afterward he
observed that they were
likely to be impediment to
him in GOD,S great
business, and being well
assured that it required full
focus he returned them
back to Jethro, as may be
seen in EXODUS 18:2-5
and also that he took the
rod of GOD, GOD’S
endowment of the rod with
miraculous power had made
it” THE ROD OF GOD” it was
the instrument by means of
which most of the plagues
and the other miracles were
wrought, EXODUS 7:20,
which GOD had
commanded him to take to
Egypt and Moses did
just as GOD had instructed.
AND THE LORD SAID UNTO
MOSES WHEN YOU GOT TO
EGYPT SEE YOU DO ALL THE
WONDERS
Now that Moses had at last
given up his own will and
entered the path of
obedience, GOD comforted
him with afresh revelation,
and he give him fresh
instructions so as to what
exactly he was to say to
Pharaoh and the LORD said
unto Moses at the time he
appeared to him in Midian,
and ordered him to go into
Egypt, even before his
departure , when you go to
return into Egypt, see that
you do all these wonders
before Pharaoh by inflicting
various plagues which I
have put in thine hand
BUT I WILL HARDEN HIS
HEART
But I will harden his heart,
and this is the natural
punishments which GOD
has attached to sin, would
seem to be the hardening of
the entire nature of the
man who sins, if man do not
retain GOD in their
knowledge , GOD gives
them up to a reprobate
mind ROMANS 1:28
This seems to be the
“Hardening of the Heart
here intended, not an
abnormal and miraculous
interference with the soul of
Pharaoh , but the natural
effect upon his soul under
GOD’S government of those
acts which he willfully and
wrongfully committed ,
that he shall not let the
people go, that is not
directly, not for some time,
not until all the wonders are
wrought, and plagues is
inflicted to bring him to it
GOD servant Moses was
now obedient; therefore,
GOD was now able to meet
his dear servant and give
him guidance and direction
GOD told Moses:
That he should go to
Pharaoh and perform all the
Miracles, GOD had given
him power to do
That GOD is going to harden
the heart of Pharaoh so
that he would not let the
people go, so he should not
be discourage when
Pharaoh reject his message
and refused to free GOD’S
people .

EXODUS 4:22-23
|
22)And thou shalt say unto
pharaoh, thus saith the lord,
Israel is my son, even my
first-born;
23)And I say unto thee, let
my son go, that he may
serve me; and if thou refuse
to let him go, behold, I will
slay thy son, even thy first
born
|
AND THOU SHALT SAY
UNTO PHARAOH THUS SAY
THE LORD ISRAEL IS MY
FIRST SON
When you arrived In Egypt
and in the presence of
Pharaoh. you should declare
to him that you come in the
name of the highest, as an
ambassador by the order of
the Most high GOD that
Israel is my first born by
adoption and choice, they
are most dear to me, and
reserved by me out of all
nations to be my peculiar
people and therefore I will
no longer allow you to
invade my right that Israel is
My first born Pharaoh
would understand this fully,
for himself was called son of
Ra.
Not only as dear to me as
to a father his first born, but
the only nation that I have
adopted and as a privilege
peculiar to Israel after all
flesh , and taken, and into
covenant, so as to be unto
me “ A PECULIAR PEOPLE
above all the nations that
are upon the earth,
Israel’s sonship was first
mentioned for the first time
in EXODUS 4:22
AND I SAY UNTO THEE, LET
MY SON GO
Moses was to proclaim the
word of GOD, he was to
declare that Pharaoh was to
free Israel so that Israel
could worship, serve and
live for GOD, and if Pharaoh
refuse he will kill the
firstborn son of Pharaoh.
One great lesson is that
when we obey and
surrender to GOD’S call,
then GOD can guide and
direct our lives.

EXODUS 4:24-26
|
24)And it came to pass by
the way in the inn, that the
LORD met him, and sought
to kill him
25)Then Zipporah took a
sharp stone, and cut off the
foreskin of her son, and cast
it at his feet, and said,
surely a bloody husband art
thou to me
26)So he let him go; then
she said, a bloody husband
thou art, because of the
circumcision
|
AND IT CAME TO PASS BY
THE WAY IN THE INN THAT
THE LORD MET HIM AND
SOUGHT TO KILL HIM
But if Moses was to carry
out the divine commission
with success, he must first
of all prove himself to be a
faithful servant of GOD,
Moses had neglected to
perform the covenant sign
of circumcision GOD was
about to kill Moses , this
hostile attitude on the part
of GOD was occasioned by
his neglect to circumcise his
son, for as soon as Zipporah
cut off (circumcised) the
foreskin of her son with a
stone knife, with which,
according to hereditary
custom, the circumcision
had probably omitted
circumcision simply from
regards to his Midianitish
wife, who dislike this
operation, he had been
guilty of a capital crime,
which GOD could not pass
over in the case of one
whom he had chosen to be
his messenger .
Zipporah was obviously
against circumcision so
much that she took the
foreskin and threw it at
Moses, feet as he lay there
in bed dying, she angrily
cried out: you are a bloody
husband to me, she was in
rebellion against GOD.
To effectively serve as
deliverer of the people of
GOD ,until he had fulfilled
the condition of GOD’
covenant , and one of those
condition was circumcision .
In case of his own son, this
was seen as a clear sign of
disobedience on the part
of Moses and his wife ,
eventually GOD afflicted
Moses with a potentially
fatal illness until his son was
circumcised, this show that
GOD’S election of an
individual continues only as
long he or she remain
obedient
2 PETER 1:10
This means that GOD was
chastising and correcting
Moses, he was to die, he
was called to go and
proclaim the glorious
|
message of deliverance of
GOD, Moses apparently
objected to circumcision,
bitterly object to it, which
caused so much strife that
Moses gave in to his wife,
he choose to avoid the
nagging and arguing and
gave in to the wife, he
obeyed his wife instead of
obeying GOD, it is clear that
circumcision was sign of the
covenant between GOD
and man
GOD gave circumcision to
teach HIS people to have no
confidence in the flesh, the
cutting away of the flesh
was the picture the symbol
and sign that the true
believer was not to place his
trust in the flesh, he was to
put his trust in GOD
SO HE LET HIM GO
So he let him go Moses
allow him to escape death,
suffer him to continue with
his journey without any
further interruption, the
disease and trembling
depart from him accepted,
Zipporah’s delayed act as a
removal of the cause of the
offence, that Zipporah’s
dislike to circumcision had
been the cause of the
omission, that GOD attack
on Moses she proceeded to
perform what had been
neglected Zipporah call
Moses a body husband,
Zipporah referred not
merely to this one instance,
but to the circumstances
generally.
We must obey GOD in all
areas of our lives, we must
not hold anything back; we
must surrender everything
we are and have to GOD if
not GOD have no choice: he
must correct and chastise
us, GOD must discipline us
if we go astray , GOD does
all he can to remove us
from sin,

EXODUS 4:27-31
|
27)And the LORD said to
Aaron, Go into the
wilderness to meet Moses,
and he went, and, and met
him in the mount of GOD,
and kissed him
28)And Moses told Aaron
all the words of the LORD
who had sent him, and the
signs which he had
commanded him
29)And Moses and Aaron
went and gathered to all the
elders of the children of
Israel
30)And Aaron spake all the
words which the LORD had
spoken unto Moses, and did
the signs in the sight of the
people
31)And the people
believed; and had visited
the children of Israel, and
that he had looked upon
their affliction, then they
bowed their heads and
worshiped

AND THE LORD SAID TO
AARON GO INTO THE
WILDERNESS TO MEET
MOSES
And GOD said unto Aaron,
he appeared to him, GOD
was fulfilling his promise , as
he was working in Aaron’s
heart as well as calling and
preparing him to serve
right at the side , all as GOD
had promised Moses, GOD
called Aaron to go to the
wilderness and meet Moses,
this he did; he met up
Moses at the Mount of
GOD, Mount Horeb/Sinai,
he was obedient to the
heavenly vision, the reunion
was to be glorious, they
kissed each other and no
doubt Moses shared with
Aaron, shared GOD’S call ,
he declared his mission and
commission from GOD and
power GOD had given him
to work signs and miracles
Moses seems to have
parted with Zipporah and
the children In Horeb, and
to have sent them back to
Jethro EXODUS 18:2-5
perhaps because they might
have interfered with the
work with he had to do in
Egypt, would be no pleasant
residence for them during
the coming struggle before,
Moses and Aaron journeyed
onward from Horeb who is
sole companion, and had
abundant time for talking
counsel with him, and
exercising the influence
over him, the journey from
Horeb to Goshen took
some time
When they reached Egypt,
they obeyed GOD’S
command, they proceeded
at once to gather together
all the elders of Israel
together, that is all those
who exercise local authority
over their countrymen in
various district which they
inhabited, through the
mouth of Aaron, Moses
declared all that had been
revealed to him at the
burning bush and
subsequently , exhibiting at
the same time the
credentials which proved
him a messenger of GOD,
that is the three miracles
which he had been
empowered to work at any
moment EXODUS 4:2-8.
The elders, being
themselves convinced ,
summoned assembly of the
people, and the people,
having heard the words of
Aaron and Moses
performing the signs, were
also convinced, the message
that GOD cared for them
and was deeply concerned
about their suffering stirred
a great hope within the
people, there stood Moses,
the great former prince of
|
Egypt, who had been exiled
for forty years, and there
stood Aaron, his elder
brother, by his side, one of
the leaders whom they
deeply respected and had
known for many years,
there was a great message
of deliverance that had just
been proclaimed to them by
Aaron, the Message from
GOD almighty, the great I
AM himself and there were
the extraordinary miracles
just performed by Moses
before their eyes.
All this aroused within their
hearts the deepest
emotions imaginable: they
were about to be free, free
by the power of GOD
himself, joy, hope, and
expectancy flooded their
hearts, a deep sense of
GOD’S care and love flowed
through their bodies,, a
spirit of thankfulness and
praise to GOD gripped their
soul and bowing their
heads, worshipping the
