1 THESSALONIANS 4:11-12
|
11)And that ye study to be quiet,
and to do your own business, and
to work with your own hands, as
we commanded you
12)That ye may walk honestly
towards them that are without,
and that ye may have lack of
nothing
|
AND THAT YE STUDY TO BE QUITE AND TO
DO YOUR OWN BUSINESS
Encourages to be quiet peaceful pamper
and yet be diligent
STUDY TO BE QUITE
Quietness we should pursue with joy
ambition, as that which is honorable to
ourselves and our profession, a Christian
calling is either general or particular and our
doing and suffering ought to be kept within
the sphere of our calling
AND TO DO YOUR OWN BUSINESS AND
WORK WITH
And to do your own business: or private
business, or what is proper to abide every
man in his own calling wherein he is called,
and under a pretense of Zeal, affection, to
inspect, direct, or manage the business
efficiently
|
PROVERBS 22:29
|
29)Seest thou a man diligent in
his business? He shall stand
before kings; he shall not stand
before mean men
|
SEE A MAN DILIGENT IN HIS BUSINESS
Efficient , quick dispatch, vigorous and
speedy executing what hath been well and
wisely arranged , in the business of his
calling, be it what it will, whether for himself
or his master; constant in it,, swift, ready
and expeditious at it, who industriously
pursues it cheerfully attends to it, make
quick dispatch of it; does it off hand, and not
slothful/ lazy, not tired of it , such a man is
wise in the world.
He shall stand before kings, he shall not
stand before mean or obscure persons, or
keep company with them; but he shall be
taken into the service of kings, noble men,
and prince and be admitted into their
presence, and receive favor from them as
Joseph, who was industrious and diligent in
his business in Potiphar’s house, was in
process of time advance, and stood before
Pharaoh King of Egypt
Every righteous man has a work or business
to do in religious way, reading, study, and
meditating of the word of GOD, abiding in
the word, continue in the word, taking care
of the needy and the poor, which lie in
exercise of grace, he shall not be in the
company of unregenerated men of the
kingdom of darkness, he shall be admitted in
the presence of the King of Kings and shall
stand before him at the great day, with
confidence, and not be ashamed; shall stand
before the right hand forever.

2 THESSALONIANS 3:8-12
RELATED CHAPTER
|
8)Neither did we eat any man’s
bread for nought; but wrought
with labor and travail night and
day, that we might not be
chargeable to any of you
9)Not because we have not
power, but to make ourselves an
example unto you to follow us
10)For even when we were with
you, this we commanded you,
that if any would not work,
neither should he eat
11)For we hear that there are
some which walk among you
disorderly, working not at all, but
are busybodies
12)Now them that are such we
command and exhort by our
LORD JESUS CHRIST, that with
quietness they work, and eat
their own bread
|
The believer must get himself rid of
laziness or idleness, should be industrious
and faithful laborers as part of their
testimony to the world, in order to provide
adequately for themselves and their
families, to support GOD;s works and to help
others in need .
Many believer would not want to work for
their bread and expect follow believer to
support them, while they are lazing around
.
BUT WROUGHT WITH LABOR AND TRAVAIL
NIGHT AND DAY
Its in labor and travail; then he continues
working night and day, dearly hard labor by
Paul, which is an example for emulation by
believers, to work and take care of those
that are need
BUT TO MAKE OURSELVES AN ESAMPLE
UNTO YOU TO FOLLOW US
It is desirable to follow the good example
by imitating them by those many idle lazy
persons among the believers, who have no
calling or trade or do not attend, should like
wise working with labor and travail, night
and day among them.

1 TIMOTHY 6:1-2
|
1)Let as many servants as are
under the yoke count their own
masters worthy of all honor, that
the name of GOD and his
doctrine be not blasphemed
2)And they that have believing
masters, let them not despise
them, because they are brethren;
but rather to do them service,
because they are faithful and
beloved, partakers of the benefit,
these things teach and exhort
|
LET AS MANY SERVANTS AS ARE UNDER
THE YOKE COUNT THEIR OWN MASTER
WORTHY OF ALL HONOR
By enjoining Christian workers to obey their
master, whether believers or unbeliever, by
being obedient and subject to all lawful
commands, which are consistent with the
religion and reason, with the laws of GOD
UNDER YOKE
Being a strict and oppressive burden, will
count their own Master well-intentioned
of all honor- treat them with all proper
respect, they are to manifest the right spirit
themselves, whatever their master did;
they were not to do anything that would
dishonor the Christian faith by their action
AND THEY THAT HAVE BELIEVING MASTER
LET THEM NOT DESPISE THEM
Such who are privilege to have a believing
masters, were not to withhold due respect
and reverence, because they were equal in
respect in religious privilege, but were to
serve with double diligence and
cheerfulness, because of their faith in
CHRIST

PROVERBS 24:30-34
|
30) I went by the field of the
slothful, and by the vineyard of
the man void of understanding
31)And, lo, it was all grown, over
with thorns, and nettles had
covered the face thereof, and the
stone wall thereof was broken
down
32)Then I saw, and considered it
well: I looked upon it and
received instruction.
33)Yet a little sleep, a little
slumber, a little folding of the
hand to sleep
34)So shall thy poverty come as
one travelleth and thy want as an
armed man
|
I WENT TO A LAZY MAN’S VINEYARD
THERE ARE GROWN WITH THORNS
The farm of a lazy man, which heart is
completely poor of understanding of good
sense,, the farm was overgrown with
weeds, thorns and thistles that were
choking the crops, the sluggard/lazy had
planted his crop but neglected the
maintenance and care that was necessary
for a profitable harvest,
In addition, the stone wall that protected
the fruits from human and animal thieves
was broken down, allowing anyone or
anything to enter without effort.
We must guard against laziness and desire
for rest and recreation, diligence requires
more than an initial effort, it requires
working and working until we complete that
which has been stated , it is not enough to
plant seeds and leave them unattended until
harvest
The work of watering and weeding is
necessary throughout the season, if the
work is neglected there will be no harvest
Sadly there always has been lazy people,
who only work hard when the boss is
watching, others work only enough to keep
them from being sacked and other expect
society and government or labor union to
provide living for them, no matter how little
their work may be, but GOD’s word is clear;
you must not be lazy, you must be
responsible for in your labor
If we are not dependable and diligent, we
may lose our jobs and face poverty if we;
