PRACTICAL APPLICATION

2 THESSALONIANS 3: 11-12
11)For we hear that there
are some which walk among
you disorderly, working not
at all, but are busybodies
12)Now them that are such
we command and exhort by
our LORD JESUS CHRIST, that
with quietness they work,
and eat their own bread
KEEP AWAY FROM EVERY
BROTHER WHO LIVE IN
IDLENESS:
It has a force of military
command, which is given in
the name of our LORD JESUS
CHRIST , Keep away from
ever brother who lives in
idleness , that is, who does
not work, who are idle ,
those who do not work.
There is absolutely no
excuse for a Christian to be
idle, slothful, or lazy at his
work, Paul set up a clear
example for us to emulate
(Paul as a tent Maker)
*As it was the case of the
idle brother, which work
disorderly , working not at
their calling, trades and
business in which they are
brought up, but live and idle
and lazy life, But are busy
bodies: though they work not
at all on their own business,
but are more concerned with
other men’s matters wander
from house to house and are
curiously inquiring into
personal and family affairs,
backbite and slander them
THAT WITH QUIETNESS THEY
WORK EAT THEIR OWN
BREAD
That with quietness they
work; with their hands to
support themselves, provide
for their families, and have
something to give to them in
need, by which means, they
will live peaceable and quite
lives, in GODLINESS and
honesty, and not disturb the
peace of neighborhood,
church and families
That they work and eat their
own bread; got by their own
labor, and bought with their
money, and not the bread of
others, or idleness
GENESIS 2:15
15)And the LORD GOD took
the man, and put him into
the garden of Eden to dress it
and to keep it
AND THE LORD GOD TOOK
Adam was the principle of
GOD’s creation and was
given the responsibility of
working under the direction
of GOD in caring for his
creation.
MAN TO DRESS IT AND KEEP
IT toil with fatigue and with
sweat
To dress it, and to keep it, so
that it seems man was not to
live an idle life,but to
The LORD puts man into the
garden for life but to labor,
to dress it, that is cultivate
the soil, tend, prune the tree
and herbs to keep it, that is
to defend it
GENESIS 3:19
19) In the sweat of thy face
shalt thou eat bread, till thou
return unto the ground; for
out of it wast thou taken; for
dust art, and unto dust shalt
thou return.
IN THE SWEAT OF THY FACE
SHALT THOU EAT BREAD
Sweat appearing first and
chiefly on the forehead, from
whence it trickles down by
the nose in person employed
in hard labor, in cultivating
the earth for production
ECCLESIASTES 9:10
10) Whatsoever thy hand
findeth to do, do it with thy
might; for there is no work,
nor device, nor knowledge,
nor wisdom, in the grave
whither thou goest
WHATSOEVER THY HAND
FINDETH TO DO
Whatever thou hast
opportunity and ability to, in
the duties of thy calling, or
for the glory of GOD and the
good of thy fellow mem; do
IT WITH ALL THY MIGHT
With tireless, diligent, and
vigor, and expedition.
2 THESSALONIANS 3:7-9
6) We command you,
brothers, to keep away from
every brother who is idle and
dose live according to the
teaching you received from
us
7)For you yourselves know
hoe you ought to follow our
example, we were not idle
when we were with you
8)Nor did we eat anyone’s
food without paying for it. No
he contrary, we worked night
and day, laboring and toiling
so that we would not be a
burden to any of you
9)We did this, not because
we do not have the right to
such help, but in order to
make ourselves a model for
you to follow
6) Now we command you
brethren, in the name of our
LORD JESUS CHRIST, that ye
withdraw yourselves from
every brother that walketh
disorderly, and not after the
tradition which he receive of
us
7)For yourselves know how
ye ought to follow us; for we
behaved not ourselves
disorderly among you
8)Neither did we eat any
man’s bread for nought; but
wrought with labor and
travail night and day, that we
night not be chargeable to
any of you
9)Not because we have not
power, but to make
ourselves an example unto
you to follow us
The believer is commanded
and solemnly charge in the
name of the LORD, that we
withdraw our self from every
brother- that walketh
disorderly
KEEP AWAY FROM EVERY
BROTHER WHO ARE IDLE
Those who do not work,
disobeyed the instruction of
GOD that deal with work and
not expected to seat around
idle .
It means, not at one’s post
of duty; undisciplined;
irregular; lawless and
disorderly, which work
according to their own will
and are idle and busybodies.
WE PAID FOR WHAT WE EAT
Paul said we paid for what
we ate of any Man’s bread,
we worked and paid our own
debts, we where not
chargeable to any man, we
labor night and day not to be
a burden on any man and to
be an example to all men not
to depend upon others for
support
*This a principle based upon
the part of the curse in
(Gen.3:19) to make a living
by sweat, idleness has always
been a curse and always will
it be, it is wrong to support
men who are able and will
not work , but don’t forget to
support the needy and poor.
But wrought with labor and
travail night and day not only
laboriously preaching the
Gospel to them, as often as
they could have opportunity.
But working very hard and
constantly with our hands, as
occupation and trade as
tentmaker, so as to minister
to our own necessity.
2 THESSALONIANS 3:10
10)For even when we were
with you, this we
commanded, you that if any
would not work neither
should he eat
The idle worker must work
or lose his right to eat, which
is clearly stated, if a man will
not work, he shall not eat,
which do not include those
with disability.
The commandment deals
with those who choose to be
idle and refuse to work but
able, there is no excuse, if a
person is able to work and
refuse to work, he is not to
be allowed to loofa of the
Church, community and
society
*Too many in the world are
able to work but are idling ,
almost every society service
can put us to work in
reaching a world of
desperate and dying people
who need our help and
attention, in GOD”S word,( if
any man will not work, he
shall not eat )
The commandment deals
with those who choose to be
idle and refuse to work, is
not dealing with those who
are honestly unable to work
due to disability or being able
to find employment.
1 THESSALONIANS 2:9
9) Surly you remember,
brothers, our toil and
hardship; we worked night
and day in order not to be a
burden to anyone while we
preached the gospel of GOD
to you
9)For ye remember,
brethren, our labor and
travail; for laboring night and
day, because we would not
be chargeable unto any of
you, we preached unto you
the gospel of GOD
10)Ye are witness, and GOD
also, how holily and justly
and unblamably we behaved
ourselves among you that
believe
FOR LABORING NIGHT AND
DAY
Paul is In ministerial work
and in secular employment
as tent maker, for laboring
night and day for both
secular and Ministry, because
we would no be chargeable,
to be able to maintain
ourselves ,so that we doing
bother any one to take care
of us but work .
*They labor with their hands
night and day at our
handicraft for a scanty live
hood and had to be engaged
in not only by day, but by
night also, in the intervals
between spiritual labors, so
as not to burdening any one
That they did not use a cover
of covetousness, but to
forego, and insist on what
they had right to, lest the
Gospel should be hindered or
reproached

46)Blessed is that servant,
whom his LORD when he
cometh shall find so doing
WHO THEN IS FAITHFUL AND
WISE SERVANT
A faithful Christian, a
servant of GOD, which every
moment retaining the
clearest conviction that all he
now has is only entrusted to
him as a steward faithful,
thinking, speaking and acting
continually in a manner
suitable to that conviction>7
*By the conduct of a faithful
servant called steward to
minister of the Word, who
are steward of the mysteries
of JESUS CHRIST, and
manifold grace of GOD, that
they are faithful to the trust
reposed on them; as
ministers are, when they
preach the pure Gospel of
JESUS CHRIST and conceal no
part, nor keep anything of it,
seek not to please man, but
GOD neither seek their own
thing, their ease, honor, and
profit but the glory of GOD,
the honor of JESUS CHRIST,
and the good of souls; and
abide in the truths, cause, all
hazards.
*And they are wise who
know and are well instructed
in divine things; who make
JESUS CHRIST the main

time for the masters use and
advantage of those that are
under their care; who seek
for, and deliver acceptable
words, so as to give a good
account of their stewardship
HIS REWARD:
The master will put the
faithful servant in charge
over all his goods, now he
will be given a much greater
responsibility to oversea for
the LORD
1 THESSALONIANS 4:11-12
11)And that ye study to be
quite, and to do your own
business, and to work with
your own hands, as we
commanded you
12)That ye may walk
honestly towards them that
are without, and that ye may
have lack of nothing
AND THAT YE STUDY TO BE
QUITE:
To live peaceably in their
own families, and to give no
disturbance to families by
backbiting, whispering; to
behave with quietness in the
neighborhood, town or city
they dwell in and seek peace
and lead a quite and
peaceable life, in all honesty
and GODLINESS.
AND TO DO YOUR OWN
BUSINESS:
To be diligent, and work
private business with our
hand to be able to those who
are in need
EPH.4:28
This condemn idleness, and
stretch our hands to work ,
we must not be living
without a calling
