13)But woe unto you,
scribes and Pharisee,
hypocrites! For ye shut up
the kingdom of heaven
against men: for ye neither
go in yourselves, neither
suffer ye them that are
entering to go in
BUT WOE UNTO YOU FOR
YE SHUT UP THE KINGDOM
OF HEAVEN
Woe unto you scribes and
Pharisee hypocrite you are
guilty, and punishment will
come upon you, JESUS
proceeds to state why they
were guilty: they shut up
the kingdom of heaven by
teaching false doctrine by
binding the people to an
observance of their
traditions; by opposing
JESUS CHRIST, and
attempting to convince the
people that he was and
impostor, they discourage
the preaching of the Gospel,
thus preventing many from
becoming his followers,
many were ready to
embrace him as the
Messiah, and were about
entering into the kingdom
of heaven but were
prevented by them
They use religion for their
own ends to advance
themselves, professionally
and materially, they
professed religion, but they
did not really follow GOD,
they pretend to be
teachers and openers of the
door to the kingdom of
heaven , when indeed they
did shut it, and denounced a
woe to them, they never
entered heaven themselves,
and by their lives and
teachings, they misled
others and kept them out of
heaven:
v They choose the world
over GOD’S demand for
self-denial, they choose
the things of the world
such as position, honor,
recognition, esteem,
wealth, money, power,
authority and security
v They preferred their
own ideas of religion
rather than GOD’S
ideas, they preferred a
religion that honor
man’s ability to do
religious things rather
than a religion that
honor GOD’S mercy for
men
v They reject GOD as
Messiah, as being the
LORD from heaven, the
very son of GOD
v The false religionist not
only did not enter
heaven themselves, they
did not allow seekers to
enter, they shut the gate
of heaven by misleading
people, and thereby
doomed them by
separating them from
GOD and the kingdom of
heaven
JESUS CHRIST leveled HIS
denunciation against the
religionist, he dealt frankly
and openly with them, their
sin was great and terrible,
they were shutting the door
of heaven against
themselves and others, they
show concern for things of
GOD, but they were really
concerned with the things
of the world, they claim the
be minister of GOD’S
religion, but were really
minister of a man- made
religion, they profess GOD’S
word, but they added to
and took away from his
word, their religion honor
man and they were close
never being able to enter,
they were full of Hypocrisy,
he exposed the truth of
their heart , their heart is
full of corruption , those
who will hear this warning
of CHRIST about the Church
hypocrisy and the doctrine
of mammon, can repent
and turn to GOD with
believing heart.

15)Woe unto you scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites!
For ye compass sea and land
to make one proselyte, and
when he is made, ye make
him twofold more the child
of Hell than yourselves
WOE UNTO YOU COMPASS
SEA AND LAND TO MAKE A
CONVERT
The religionist employ
every means, spare no
pains, they exercise of the
utmost effort, to gain a
convert, because they
corrupt their convert, both
as to doctrine and manners,
so as they were twice more
the children of the devil,
and in danger of hell
False religionist are very
zealous in evangelism; they
are willing to go anywhere
or place ,they move around
the world to make single
convert , who by their man
made, ritual, ceremonies,
rules, outward
worship, tradition and false
religion, they were
prompted only by selfish
and self-centered motives,
vain glory, covetousness,
and if they convert men ,
they turn them to their own
opinion, with false beliefs,
gross externalism , which
will corrupt the new
converts, thereby double
the damnation of these
converts, and make them
two times the men of Hell
than themselves by worldly
fanaticism
They had far better have
left them in their
irresponsible ignorance, the
converts became extra the
children of hell because,
seeing the iniquities of their
teachers, they learned an
evil lesson from them

evil? To save life, or kill? But
they held their peace
IS IT LAWFUL TO DO GOOD
OR EVIL TO SAVE LIFE OR
TO KILL
JESUS Said unto the man
which had the withered
hand, after he had reasoned
with them from the lesser
to the greater, upon their
principle and practice and
knowing their thoughts,
understanding their
conspiracy turns himself to
the lame man stand forth in
the midst of the synagogue:
this he said, partly to raise
the attention of the people
to the following miracle, to
move sympathy upon the
sight of the object; and
heighten the hard
heartedness of the
Pharisees; as also it might
manifest to all, that the
mans hand was really
withered; and that there
was no fraud in the
following healing
And JESUS said unto them,
to all the assembly in the
synagogue especially to the
Scribe and Pharisees, is it
lawful to do good on the
Sabbath days, or do evil, to
save life, or to kill?
To do evil, kill or destroy,
are not lawful at any time,
the question was put home
to the conscience of the
scribe and Pharisees,;
whose hearts and thoughts,,
designs and views, were all
open to CHRIST: and who
were now watching to do
evil to him, and even to
destroy and take away his
life; for violation of the
Sabbath was death by law ,
he put the question to them
and make them judge,
which appear most right
and just in the sight of God
and man, for him to heal
this poor man of his
withered hand, though on
Sabbath day which since to
be doing GOD and act of
mercy to him, whereby his
life would be saved.
True religion is doing good
and saving lives, what JESUS
was teaching shows that
true religion is not rules,
regulation, ceremony and
ritual, no matter how good
the rule and ceremony
would, if a man has a need,
true religion meets that
need , JESUS ask which is
lawful on the Sabbath day,
to do good or to do evil?
JESUS has power to do good
and heal the man, he would
be withholding good and
doing evil, which is lawful to
save or kill? JESUS had the
power and wanted to save
life, True religion is doing
good and saving lives

FOR THE PHARISEES AND
ALL THE JEWS
v THE mark of outward
worship
v Many hand washing
Faultfinding
v Holding to tradition of
men in preference to
GOD
v Ceremonial washing of
body
v Ceremonial washing of
cups, pots, vessel,
v Request all men to
follow their own
outward religion
v Insisting on outward
cleansing, though void
of the inward
v Honoring GOD with lip
service, not with the
heart
v Carry on vain worship
v Rejecting and casting
aside GOD’S law and
teaching man’s
v Substituting man’s
religion for that of GOD
The scribe and Pharisees,
when they came from the
market , if they touched the
garment of common
people, they believe they
were defied as if they had
touched a person and
needed immersion,
wherefore, except they
wash, they eat not, , or
immerse themselves in
water and many other
things there be which they
have received to hold, by
tradition from their elders ,
they thought this ceremony
cleansed them from any
contact they might have had
with anything considered
unclean,
JESUS said they were wrong
in thinking they were
acceptable to GOD just
because they were clean
outside
HE ANSWERED AND SAID
WELL HAD ISAIAH
PROPHESIED
For the prophecy of ISAIAH
not only described the
hypocrites when they
would, as they did, greatly
degenerate, and lost the
power and spirituality of
religion, and had only the 34
form of it,, left the word of
GOD for the tradition of
men, this people honoreth
me with their lips, but their
heart is from me,, they
presented their bodies
before the LORD in the
synagogues, temple or
Church and prayed to him
with an air of devotion and
fervency, and offered up
their praises to him, for
their outward privilege and
blessings, but this was all
lips labor, there was no
lifting up their heart, not
inward unto GOD
A hypocrite gives lips
service while keeping his
heart far from GOD, JESUS
says they are hypocrites
their heart is not with GOD,
they refuse to personally
accept JESUS the SON of
GOD, the Messiah, savor of
the world, they do not know
GOD personally not from
the depth of their heart
The Pharisees and teachers
of the law were guilty of the
sin of legalism, a legalist
substitute outward acts ,
rules or woods for proper
inner attitudes that come
from being born of GOD and
spirit, such people honor
GOD with their lips, while
their heart are far from him,
they appear righteous,
outwardly, but inwardly
have no real love for GOD,
legalism has to do with
motives by which the
believer approach GOD’S
will as expressed in HIS
word, which must stem
from a living faith in CHRIST, 35
the regenerating power of
the Holy Spirit and the
sincere desire to obey and
please GOD
IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP
ME
JESUS accused the
religionist of worshiping in
vain, he my worship but its
worship is empty, worthless
unacceptable, the religionist
worship with their lips, but
denying CHRIST, GOD’S son
in their heart
FOR LAYING ASIDE THE
COMMANDMENT OF GOD
The religionist lay aside all
the commandment of GOD,
to which they preferred the
tradition of the elders, they
place human tradition
above or before GOD’S
written revelation , they
hold the tradition of men
and neglect GOD’S
commandments, the
religionist teach his
tradition as he practice it or
proclaims it , however, they
are not to be taught as
though they were the
commandments of GOD, as
important as some tradition
s may be, they are not as
important as GOD’S word,
churches must resist the
tendency to exalt religious
tradition,, rules, regulation,
, human wisdom above the
Bible, scripture is the only
dependable rule of faith and
practice; it must never be
nullified by human ideas.
YOU REJECT THE
COMMANDMENT OF GOD
THAT YOU MAY KEEP YOUR
TRADITION
The religionist teach man
made commandment as
commandment of GOD, the
false teacher keep their
tradition there by broken
GOD’S law in order to keep
the traditions of religion,
their tradition is not
instituted by GOD, they
rightly make void the
commandment of GOD ,
that they may keep your
own commandment

THE EXAMPLE OF HUMANS
TRADITION;
JESUS gives example of one
of these human tradition,
Moses said, Honor thy
Father and thy Mother
that is, obey and love them
and support them, if they
need it; and he that speaks
evil of Father and Mother,
let him die the death: that is
let him surely die, without
any hope of pardon,
EXODUS 21:17 JESUS
explained , not only of
honoring parents in
thought, word, and deed,
but also of providing for
them, when in want and
distress, through poverty
and old age, so the
concluding part, is that
every slight put upon them,
and neglect of them, when
in necessitous circumstance
But your tradition says if a
man shall say to his father
and mother, it is Corban
that is to say, a gift unto
GOD, devoted to scared
uses so his substance after
such vow, could not be
applied to the relief of his 37
parents which should have
been used if even if he later
needs the gift to take care
of his parent
CORBAN: a gift dedicated
to GOD, when a person gave
a gift or left an estate to
GOD, he simply pronounced
the words, my goods are
corban, it was an official
statement that was legally
binding, once that
statement is made it
belongs to the temple, the
religionist went too far in
encouraging such gift and
estates, they tried to secure
the vow from those who
had parents or family
member that needed help,
in such cases, a person was
evading the most basic
duty: caring for his parents
EXODUS 20:12
EXODUS 21:17
MAKING THE WORD OF
GOD OF NONE EFFECT
The religionist man made
tradition more important
than the word of GOD,
tradition nullify the word of
GOD, make the word of
GOD ineffective, by setting
aside GOD’S words for
tradition, church or
religious institution may be
described as man made
commandment, or church
doctrine are used instead
the word of GOD such as
rituals, rules, regulation,
schedules, procedures,
service, organization,
personal tradition are such
things as church
attendance, prayer, habits,
ceremonies, objects which a 38
person use gullibly to keep
himself religiously secure.
JESUS made it clear by
attacking the religionist was
the fact that they put their
traditions first, while
neglecting the word of GOD
the tradition they received
from their ancestors

A man is not defiled nor
made unclean by what
enters his body, but by what
comes out of his heart
his aim was to show that all
impurity spring from the
heart, and that, unless the
heart is cleaned, all external
washing are in vain
NOTHING FROM WITHOUT
A MAN THAT ENTERING
INTO HIM CAN DEFILE HIM
The religionist teaches that
it is not lawful to eat with
unwashed hands, because 39

food unclean, and unclean
food defiles the soul, but
they are in error; because
not that which enters from

BESOUGHT HIM TO DINE

A Pharisee invited JESUS to
dine with him, he had
probably been in the
audience of JESUS and
become interested in JESUS
CHRIST teaching, he did not
decline an invitation to dine
with Him simply because he
is a Pharisee, or because he
is a wicked man, hence he,
was charged with being
gluttonous and a friend of
publicans and sinner
MATTHEW 11:19, he seized
upon all occasion to do
good, he never failed from
declaring the truth and
making such occasions the
means of spreading the
Gospel,
HE MARVELED THAT HE
HAD NOT FIRST WASHED
HIS HAND
When JESUS entered the
Pharisee house, he went
straight to the food and sat
down to eat; he did not
wash his hands, this
astonished the Pharisee,
that so great prophet as he
was, and a man of so much
religious holiness, should
show no regard to the
religious tradition , for it
was a serious violation of
religious law, it had nothing
to do with cleanness but
spiritual purity, it was
taught that a person’s hand
has been in contact with a
sinful world; therefore, the
person was to wash his
hands before eating to
prevent spiritual impurity
from entering into his body,
the Pharisee religionist was
thinking to himself that
JESUS had seriously violated
the law of purity, JESUS of
course, knew his thought
and began to reply
NOW DO YE PHARISEES
MAKE CLEAN THE OUTSIDE
OF THE CUP AND THE
PLATTER
Now do you religionist
make clean the outside of
the cups and the platter,
being very insistent of the
traditions of the elders,
concerning the washing of
cups and pots, in spite of
your extreme care for the
vessels of your table the
washing of pots cups ,
hands, your whole moral life
is unclean and defiled, your
inward part is full of
ravening and wickedness,
which were full of all
manner of sin, the meat
and drink gotten by
wickedness, extortion,
oppression and deception
in coveting ones property ,
fools to lay down such strict
rules to avoid outward
defilement, while within, in
the soul, you allow all
manner of wickedness?
Surely GOD, who created
the things we see and
touch, created the soul also.
The religionist were clean
ceremonially but unclean
within, they kept their
religious ceremonies, but
they did nothing about the
human heart, they cleansed
the out side not the inside,
they treat religion like a
person who would be
washing dishes, the person
wash the outside of the Cup
and plate but left the inside
dirty ,, the heart of the
religionist was full of greed,
which means plunder,
seizing, extortion, robbery,
taking by force and
wickedness
The religionist full of
plunder and wickedness ,
they plundering the way of
GOD, trying to seize GOD’S
kingdom his own way
instead of following the way
of GOD, he is committing
extortion against GOD by
robbing GOD of the
salvation He has set up, the
religionist is full of
wickedness, that is,
disobeying GOD and
refusing to follow JESUS,
who is the way of
righteousness established
by GOD, instead of coming
to GOD by the Messiah, a
religionist comes to GOD by
his own righteousness, he
tries to make himself clean
by keeping the religious
ceremonies and worship, a
man, religious or non
religions, cannot establish
his own righteousness, he
cannot make himself clean
enough to approach GOD;
not by works, nor by
religious ceremony and
worship, nor by the outward
of his platter or life
YOU FOOLS DID NOT HE
THAT MADE THAT WHICH
IS WITHOUT
Did not GOD, who made
the body, make also the
soul, GOD made both the
outside and the inside(the
heart) of man, JESUS said
the outside is not all that is
unclean, the inside is also
unclean and must be
cleansed to become
acceptable to GOD, God
made the whole man, the
heart as well as the body, a
man has to give GOD a clean
heart and a clean body, a
spiritual heart as well as
spiritual body the giving of
one heart cleans everything
BUT RATHER GIVE ALMS
OF SUCH THINGS AS YE
HAVE
JESUS said give Alms
charity to the poor, such
things as you have, share
your content with your
poorer neighbors which
involve the idea of Mercy ,
that GOD is not interested
for ritual and ceremonies

what is inside the dish to
the poor, if he give his heart
to GOD, he will become
clean in all things, he will be
giving instead of taking,
giving to GOD and giving to
man to give all he is to GOD,
by which he will become
clean within, to give all he
has to GOD by which he will
demonstrate that he is
clean within

42)But woe unto,
Pharisees! For ye tithe mint
and rue and all manner of
herbs, and pass over
judgment and the love of
GOD; these ought ye to
have done, and not to leave
the other undone
BUT WOE UNTO PHARISEE
FOR YOU TITHE MINT AND
RUE AND ALL HERBS
JESUS CHRIST denounce the
sin of the religionist , for
you tithe mint and rue and
all manner of herbs: or
every herbs; that all sorts of
herbs that grows in the
garden, to be more exact,
and strict in ,and extreme
for the observation of
rituals and the traditions of
men and pass over
judgment and the love of
GOD; by judgment means
justice, or dong what is right
between GOD and man,
both publicly and privately ,
which was greatly neglected
by these extortioners and
unjust men and by the love
of GOD in observance of
love to the neighbor, which
GOD requires.
The religionist took tithing
very seriously, they tithe
every little thing, even
plants of their gardens, they
stressed outward duties
such as tithing and
ceremony, rituals and
ordinance, work and they
neglect the inward duties
such as Justice and the love
of GOD
Justice is the way we treat
others, religionist and their
church organization are
recipients of the tithe and
offerings of GOD;s people,
the monies and gifts are
often coveted for oneself
and the building of one’s
organization more than for
ministering of the poor, the
oppressed and the lost the
tithe was made for
DEUTERONOMY 14:28-29
too often the money made
for the poor before the
change of the Levitical
priesthood to Melchizedek
JESUS CHRIST and annulling
the tithe : Too often monies
are kept for extravagant
buildings and livelihoods
and personal comfort
monies that GOD wants
used to feed the hungry,
clothe the naked , house the
fatherless, care for the
widows , and reach the lost,
such extravagance and
misuse of the tithe reveals
an unjust heart, it is
cheating the needy of the
world, it is as JESUS said
passing over justice, is
overlooking what is right
and just in a world that just
reels under the weight of
million who are desperately
in need.
The love of GOD is both the
love he has given us in
JESUS CHRIST and the love
we are to our neighbors
THE ANNULMENT OF TITHE
HEBREWS 7:15-18
15)And it is yet far more
evident; for that after the
similitude of Melchizedek
there ariseth another priest
16)Who is made, not after
the law of carnal
commandment, but after
the power of an endless life
17)For he testifieth, thou
art a priest for ever after
the order of Melchizedek
18) For there is very a
disannulling of the
commandment going before
for weakness and
profitableness thereof
19)For the law made
nothing perfect, but the
bringing in of a better hope
did; by the which we draw
nigh unto GOD
20)And inasmuch as not
without an oath he was
made priest
21)For those priest were
made without an oat; but
this with and oat by him
that said unto him, the
LORD sware and will not
repent , thou art a priest
forever after the order of
Melchizedek
22)By so much was JESUS
made a surety of a better
testament.
23)And they truly were
many priest, because they
were not suffered to
continue by reason of death
24)But this man, because
he continueth ever, hath an
unchangeable priesthood
25)Wherefore he is able
also to save them to the
uttermost that come unto
GOD by him, seeing he ever
liveth to make intercession
for them
26)For such a high priest
became us, who is holy,
harmless,
undefiled,separate from
sinners, and made higher
than the heavens;
27)Who needeth not daily,
as those high priests, to
offer up sacrifice, first for
his own sins, and then for
the people’s for this he did
once, when he offered up
himself
28)For the law maketh men
high priests which have
infirmity; but the word of
the oath, which was since
the law, maketh the SON,
who is consecrated for
evermore
LUKE 11:44
44)Woe unto, scribe and
Pharisees, hypocrites! For
ye are as grave which
appear not, and the men
that walk over them are not
aware of them
WOE UNTO YOU YOU ARE
AS GRAVE WHICH APPEAR
NOT
JESUS compares the
religionist to their
Hypocrisy, appearing white,
but having nothing but
rottenness, a grave
concealed from view, and
thus contract ceremonial
defilement, so the likely
outside, kept people from
observing the
contamination they
contracted from coming in
contact with such corrupt
character .
JESUS CHRIST compare the
religionist of their hypocrisy,
and secret iniquity, both to
whited sepulchers, ,
because, they look
beautiful outside, and
righteous in the sight of
men and yet inwardly full of
all manner of pollution and
sin; because they did not
appear to be what they
were, and men were
deceived by them; and
under false pretenses to
religion and Holiness, were
by their corrupt doctrines
and practice unawares
drawn in commission of sin

52)Woe unto you, lawyers!
For ye have taken away the
key of knowledge; ye
entered not in yourselves,
and them that were

WOE ON TO YOU LAWYERS
Woe unto you lawyers! For
you have taken away the
key of knowledge, the
method of understanding it,
they hinder the people from
understanding it aright, ye
have obstructed and
destroyed the true
knowledge of the present
and the future of the
kingdom of heaven, by your
wrong interpretation of the
scripture respecting the
Messiah, you have filled the
people with strong biases
against the Gospel,
If there is any sin of special
magnitude, it is that of
keeping the people in
ignorance by false
instruction by arrogate the
knowledge to themselves,
they take away from the
people the true knowledge,
preventing them from
coming to the knowledge of
the truth, they stress the
external, ceremonial, rules,
of outward religion than the
inward religion of the heart
and repentance, they turn
men away from the
scripture to their own ideas
and thought, rules and
regulations
That you not only reject it
by not receiving the Gospel
yourselves, but you hinder
others from receive it,
which enable you to access
the kingdom of heaven.

24)No man can serve two
masters: or either he will
hate the one and love the
other: or else he will hold to
the one, and despised the
other, ye cannot serve GOD
and Mammon
NO MAN CAN SERVE TWO
MASTERS
No man can serve two
masters, whose interests
and commands are directly
contrary to each other, for
either he will hate the one
and love the other, JESUS
CHRIST warns that a choice
has to be made between
two masters;
The choice is clear< a man
either serve GOD or
material things, there are 51
only two treasures; the
earth and its treasures or
GOD and his treasures or
spiritual and eternal things.
Everyman without
exception has committed
his life to one of the two
treasures: mammon or
GOD, he focuses his heart,
eyes, mind, attention,
thoughts, hands, and energy
upon earthly things or upon
heavenly things, he cannot
serve GOD and Money
CHRIST proceeds to
illustrate the necessity of
laying up treasures in
heaven from a well-known
fact, that a servant cannot
serve two masters at the
same time, his affection and
obedience would be
divided, and he would fail
altogether in his duty to one
or the order; one he would
love, the other he will hate,
to the interests of the one
he would adhere, the
interests of the other he
would neglect, no man can
serve GOD, and yet make
the getting of riches or the
business of getting the
world, House, cars, building,
the craving of the sinful
nature, you cannot serve
GOD and Riches.
Mammon_ a name given to
an idol worshiped as the
god of riches, it also used to
denote wealth, money
earthly treasure and many
things

22)JESUS answered and
said unto them, ye do err,
not knowing the scriptures,
nor the power of GOD
YOU DO ERR NO KNOWING
THE SCRIPTURE
JESUS CHRIST said, they
erred not knowing the
scripture , the scripture are
plain and clear, they leave
no doubt that there is a
spiritual world that here is
to be a resurrection into the
spiritual world or spiritual
dimension of being , and the
power of GOD ,to whom
nothing is impossible, and
who, in the resurrection,
would perform a work very
different from what they
supposed, changing the
natural into spiritual, and
transforming the
characteristics of the life
that now is into a different
and higher sphere, yet
preserving identity
LUKE 12:20-21
20)But GOD said unto him
thou fool, this night thy soul
shall be required of thee:
then whose shall those
things be, which thou hast
provided
21)So is he that layeth up
treasures for himself, and is
not rich towards GOD
BUT GOD SAID TO HIM
THOU FOOL:
It was and awful sentence
to a man, who as he
thought, had got just ready
to live and enjoy himself in a
single moment all , and his
hopes were dashed, and his
soul summed to the court of
his long-forgotten GOD, so
many are surprised
unprepared and sudden ,
they are snatched from
their pleasure, and all their
wealth cannot purchase one
moment’s ease from the
troubling of the fire that
never quench
THIS NIGHT THY SOUL
SHALL BE REQUIRED
It was GOD who knew the
thought of man, it was GOD
who knew the man was
going to die that very night,
THIS NIGHT- which may
refer to the time when 53
covetous persons are
employing their thought
about their worldly goods,
or when sensual persons
are indulging themselves in
luxury and self-indulgence
being in the night
suddenness of divine wrath,
the man did not know it or
any one else, the man’s life
was required and
demanded it, his soul was to
be in another world of
spiritual existence.
The man was called a fool
by GOD, he had lived as a
fool,, lived entirely for
himself, he left everything
THEN WHOSE SHALL THOSE
THING BE, WHICH THU
HAST PROVIDED
For he came with nothing
with him nor does he know
who will own the goods
SO IS HE THAT LAYS UP
TREASURE FOR HIMSEL
AND RICH TOWARDS GOD
Acquire riches for his own
use, for himself, which is the
characteristic of covetous
man, it is all for himself, and
acts only with regard to his
own interest , he employs
all his thoughts and spends
all his time, in amassing to
himself worldly riches and
wealth , in laying up
treasure on earth for
himself, and make no use of
his earthly subsistence for
the good of others; nor
show any concern for
spiritual and eternal riches.
He has no inheritance in
the kingdom of GOD, no
riches laid up in heaven, his
affections are all fixed on
this world, and he has non
for GOD
