and obey their commands; as
commanded in
EXODUS 20:12
The home is the center of
child training and the
responsibility to train the
children lies with the parents,
submission to parents leads
to submission to GOD,
parents should not dump this
responsibility in the lap of
others, such as the church ,
the school, scout or sports
team , nowhere in the bible
are any of these are charged
with the training of the child,
it is the obligation of the
parents.
GOD commands the Parents
to diligently teach the word
of GOD unto our children,
and shall talk of them when
thou sit in your house, and
when thou walk by the way,
and when thou lie down, and

when you rise up and
DEUTERONOMY 6:7
FOR THEY SHALL BE AN
ORNAMENT OF GRACE
Children who obey their
parents’ discipline and
teaching are crowned with
honor, favor and respect ,the
instructions and commands
of parents being attended
unto and obeyed by children,
render them more lovely and
amiable than beautiful

TURN AWAY FROM SINNERS
One of the crucial lesson
Parents should teach their
children to stay away from
sinners, those who are
consi
dered to be bad crowd,
people who are wicked who
do wicked things, who are
corrupters, who are involved
in dangerous actions, Parents
have a responsibility to do
everything they can to
protect their children from
them , they should not
consent to sin, to commit any
known iniquity, such as sell
themselves to work in all
manner of wickedness:
particularly robbery
,stealing, murder, oppressor
fraud , cheating, yield not in
any degree to their advice,
persuasions or solicitations.
Young people can resist such
temptations by developing a
close relationship with GOD
as their LORD, by nurturing
their Spirit daily with the
word of GOD
PROVERBS 4:1
1: hear, ye children, the
instruction of a father, and
attend to know
understanding
2; for I gave you good
doctrine, forsake ye not my
law
3: For I was my father’s son
tender and only beloved in
the sight of my mother
4: He taught me also, and
said unto me, let thine heart
retain my words; keep my
commandments and live
5:Get wisdom, get
understanding, forget it not;
neither decline from the
words of my mouth
HEAR YE CHILDREN, THE
INSTRUCTION OF A FATHER
GET WISDOM GET
UNDERSTANDING
When father corrects you
children have reason to obey
godly instruction, It is GOD
that revealed to Solomon
understanding and wisdom
that was transferred by his
father David of GOD’S truth
that is what encourage
Solomon to ask GOD for
wisdom and understanding
TO KNOW UNDERSTANDING
And attend to know
understanding: what would
serve to enlighten, improve
and inform, their
understanding will lead them
to knowledge and
understanding of things
divine and spiritual and
having their understanding
stored and enriched with
GET WISDOM GET
UNDERSTANDING
The wisdom of GOD is
essential for a meaningful
godly life, therefore we must
seek it above all things, to
attain such wisdom is for
those who diligently seek it,
which comes through
Spiritual diligence, who seek
it from GOD through
revelatory instruction, which
make a person to experience
the knowledge of GOD, the
fear of GOD make us to turn
away from evil, which is the
beginning of wisdom
PROVERBS 9:10
Wisdom is for persons who
seek the values that belongs
to GOD’S discipline accept
the commitment of GOD
listen to godly counsel of
their parents and treasured
wisdom more than gold and
silver, JESUS is the supreme
manifestation of wisdom
PSALM 34:11
11: Come, ye children,
hearken unto me, I will teach
you the fear of the LORD
COME YE CHILDREN,
HEARKEN UNTO ME
Meaning either his own
children, these of his family,
judging it his duty to instruct
them, and bring them up in
the fear of the LORD,that he
may state to them the result
of his own experience, and
teach them from that
experience how they may
find happiness and
prosperity

chastening of the LORD;
neither be weary of his
correction:
he correcteth; even as a

MY SON DESPISE NOT THE
CHASTENING OF THE LORD
Do not despise the LORD’S
disciple nor hate his
correction, either by making
light of it, or not being duly
affected with it, or by
accounting it an unnecessary
thing, but rather appreciate it
as a privilege and favor from
GOD, as he is a loving
FATHER who corrects his
children when they disobey
him and his commands
through punishment
GOD offers two counsel
regarding the LORD’S
discipline:
Not to reject or cast away, or
have nothing to-do in the
case of GOD’S discipline, we
need to accept discipline
when GOD deems it
necessary to discipline us.
We must not be grieved or
offended, to hate it, when
suffering come on us, but
rather endure it with
patience and cheerfulness
PROVERBS 4:20-23
20: My son, attend to my
words; incline thine ear unto
my saying
21:Let them not depart from
thine eyes;keep them in the
midst of thine heart
22: For they are life unto
those that find them, and
health to all their flesh
23: keep thy heart with all
diligence; for out of it are the
issues of life
MY SON, ATTEND TO MY
WORDS IN CLINE THINE EAR
UNTO MY SAYING
Keep on the straight,
righteous path, listen closely
to these words, let them
guide your conduct, commit
them to writing, frequently
read them over, let them
always be in your sight, as a
rule and directly to steer the
course of life.
Son need to see and
understand as he keeps the
word of GOD in the midst of
their heart, lay them up there
and ponder on them, often
mediate upon them, in front
of their eyes, which will
direct his path, he need to
harbor them in the very core
of his heart, where they will
be pumped, along with
lifeblood to every part of his
being, which must be actively
maintained in his life not to
allow it slip away; there fore
we must consciously guard it
at all times, wisdom equates
to life as health equates to a
person life
The idea is that wisdom
brings healing, which
restores person from his
sickness of difficulty,
ignorance and lack of
knowledge, wisdom is a

healing remedy a solution
for poor or foolish decision
that carry physical
consequence wisdom will
flow into the individuals life
and cure the ignorance and
relief the person from
consequence of failure and
death.
KEEP YOU HEART WITH ALL
DILIGENCE
Heart is all things that must
be guided, it is the fountain
and well out of it flows the
issues of life, since it is
deceitful and treacherous; a
strict eye is to be kept upon
it; all the avenue to it is to be
watched, that nothing hurtful
enters, or evil comes out of
it. It is to be kept by all
manner of means that can be
thought of, by prayer,
meditation, hearing the
gospel , reading godly books
and above all by applying to
CHRIST for his grace and his
Spirit to sanctify it , preserve
and keep it.
PROVERBS 7:1-4
1: my son, keep my words,
and lay up my
commandments with thee
2: Keep my commandments,
and live, and my law as the
apple of thine eye
3: Bind them upon thy
fingers, write them upon the
table of thine heart
4: Say unto, wisdom, thou
art my sister, and call
understanding thy
kinswoman
MY SON KEEP MY WORD
AND LAY UP MY
COMMANDMENT WITH
THEE
My son, keep my words
doctrines and instructions,
and treasure my
commandments within you,
as a treasure in your heart, to
be brought out upon
occasion; to be kept as
valuable, and made use as an
antidote against and a

preservative from sin ,so they
are readily available to guide
you keep my commandment
and live and keep my
teachings and law as the
apple of your eye, bind them
securely on your fingers,
write them on the tablet of
your heart:
Ø Keep or guard my
words and
commandment put a
hedge about them;
protect them so they
do not slip away
Ø Store them GOD’S
commands; hide
them within yourself
like valuable
commodity or
treasure
Ø Command and teach
refer to GOD’S word
and laws

RECEIVE MY INSTRUCTION
AND NOT SILVER, AND
KNOWLEDGE
Acquire wisdom rather than
Seeking silver and take
knowledge of JESUS CHRIST
his doctrine of the Gospel are
of more worth, and more to
be desire rather than
thousands of gold and silver
For wisdom is better than
rubies and all desirable
things cannot compare with
her, we must choose wisdom
over wealth and possession
of this world, it means to
receive, and accept, it.
Those who choose wisdom
regards her as more valuable
than the world’s most
precious metal because it is
scarce, wisdom summarized
all a person could long for or
desire , there is nothing
whatsoever that an individual
could want that compares to
wisdom
PROVERBS 8:32-36
32: Now therefore hearken
unto me me, O ye children
for blessed are they that
keep my ways
33: hear instruction and be
wise, and refuse it not
34: blessed is the man that
heareth me, watching daily
at my doors
35: For whoso findeth me
findeth life, and shall obtain
favor of the LORD
NOW THEREFORE HEARKEN
UNTO ME, O YE CHILDREN
Surely we should hearken to
CHRIST voice with, let us all
be wise, and not refuse such
mercy, blessed are those
who hear the Savior’s voice,
and wait on him with daily
study, meditation and prayer,
CHRIST is the wisdom of
GOD, and he is life to all
believers; non can obtain
favor, unless he find JESUS
CHRIST, only those who listen
to wisdom instruction and
obey are blessed.
For blessed are they that
keep GOD’S ways it is
happiness to be in the way of
CHRIST , which leads to
salvation that is always
profitable, those who will be
wise who find wisdom find
life and life everlasting.
Those who need to be
blessed must be eager to
guide their though and their
hearts lest they will be drawn
away by the world
wickedness and they must
accept JESUS CHRIST his
Knowledge and practice the
doctrine and teachings and
be eager to
PROVERBS 13:1
1: A wise, son heareth his
father’s instruction; but a
scorner heareth not rebuke
A WISE SON HEARETH HIS
FATHER’S INSTRUCTION
wise children obey their
parents’ instructions, foolish
children mock their parents
and refuse to listen to them,
wise children accept
discipline from their parents
and learn from it, Mockers
rebel against their parents
when they are discipline, by
refusing to listen to them, by
obeying their instruction.
Wise children say nothing
but silence in acceptance of
the discipline, they do not
rebel against their parents
correction but heed the
lesson taught by it, wise
children listen learn and
change their behavior.

24: he that spareth his rod
hated his son: but he that
loveth him chasteneth him
betimes
HE THAT SPARETH HIS ROD
HATED HIS SON
The wise parents who
withhold his rod of
correction, which is in his
hand, which he has power to
use, and ought to exercise at
the proper times, instead of
loving their children, the rod
represents here the means of
punishments, he who spears
or avoided this, and thought
that he is doing it for love,
has yet no true love for his
child, he who love him
correct him early.
The foolish neglects
discipline and give license to
foolish behavior, loving
parents discipline their
children for their children’s

sake, in order to help them
live righteously .
GOD’S word corrects both
parents who love their
children to discipline them
promptly and appropriately,
and when necessary, the
word of GOD clearly states,
parents who fail to discipline
their children are actually
demonstrating hate for them
PROVERBS 15:32-33
32: He that refuseth
instruction despiseth his own
soul: but he that heareth
reproof getteth
understanding
33; The fear of the LORD is
the instruction of wisdom;
and before honor is humility
HE THAT REFUSETH
INSTRUCTION DESPISETH HIS
OWN SOUL
The wise heed correction
and grow in understanding,
the foolish ignores discipline
and harm themselves ,the
instruction of parents,
master, and GOD himself or
correction either by word or
by the rod of correction he
that withdraws himself from
it, will not be in the way of it,
that shuns, neglect and
despises it.
The wise realize this truth
only though observing
discipline will they gain
understanding as they are
more concerned about their
soul as they graciously accept
and follow through with what
ever discipline is prescribed
THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE
INSTRUCTION OF WISDOM
The wise gain honor because
they fear the LORD and
humble themselves before
him, reverence for him and
submission to him is
discipline in and it self, it
teaches people wisdom, the
wisdom they display in their
daily lives- love, peace , ,joy,
peace, patience, gentleness,
goodness, faithfulness,
meekness self -control
through
PROVERBS 19:18
18: Chasten thy son while
there is hope, and let not thy
soul spare for his cry
CHASTEN THY SON WHILE
THERE IS HOPE
Discipline your children; in
the right way when they are
still young and capable of
being reformed, abstain not
to give them due and
necessary correction, the
noise he makes, the tears he
shed, the entreaties he used
to keep the rod of
correction, let not a foolish
pity and tenderness prevail
to lay it aside on that account
the consequence of which
may be bad to parent and
children.
It will help them from harm
and premature death,
parents are to discipline
their children, which includes
physical and verbal
correction at the early stage
of his life, in other to teach
them what they can do and
what they cannot do in order
to keep them from the
harmful and deadly practices
of foolishness and
wickedness
Parents should not neglect
the disciple of their children,
if parents delay too long to
firmly correcting wrong
behavior, their discipline will
not be effective, therefore
we must correct our children
to keep them from being
disobedience both to
parents and to society
PROVERBS 22:6
6: Train up a child in the way
he should go; and when he is
old he will not depart from it
TRAIN A CHILD IN THE WAY
HE SHOULD GO
Train a child to walk the path
of wise, and godly living; in a
careful study by bringing
them under the means of
grace, the ministry of the
word, by instructing them
the principle of religion,
teaching them their duty,
and setting them as good
example of a holy life and
conversation to GOD and
man.
When he is old, when he
comes to the year of
maturity and understanding,
their hearts are seasoned
with grace of GOD, they are
then able to put them in
practice, of truth and
holiness, he will not turn
away from it.
It is the duty of parents to
start their children on the
right path of life, they teach
and disciple their children,
when they are old, they will
not able to depart from the
training they give them.
Parents are responsible to
start their children towards
the path of righteousness
PROVERBS 22:15
15: foolishness is bound in
the heart of a child; but the
rod of correction shall drive it
far from him
FOOLISHNESS IS BOUND IN
THE HEARTH OF A CHILD;
BUT THE ROD OF
CORRECTION
The love of mischief, the
waywardness and self-will,
belong to children, bound up
in their very nature, in the

heart of the young, is fixed
and being born with him,
being born in sin, and
sharpen in iniquity
But the rod of correction
used by parents, for the
correction of sin and
foolishness, is a means of
making children wise, and
restraining the foolishness
that is bound up in them; and
reclaimed them from those
sinful ways, which the
foolishness of their hearts
leads them to, and so in
some measure of driving it
far from them
PROVERBS 23:13-14
13: Withhold not correction
from the child; for if thou
beatest him with the rod, he
shall not die
14: Thou shalt beat him with
the rod, and shalt deliver his
soul from hell
WITHHOLD NOT
CORRECTION FROM THE
CHILD
Discipline your children,
when he has committed a
fault, and correction is
necessary; for to spare it is to
the ruin of the child, and no
proof of true affection in the
parents , wise parents know
the value of discipline, who
exercise discipline or
correction on their children ,
it is stated that discipline
thrash/spank your children
and save them from death.
Wise parent will discipline
their children because the
correction will save them,
not damage them, correction
of children saves them from
premature death caused by a
sinful lifestyle
FOR IF THOU BEAT HIM
WITH A ROD HE SHALL NOT
DIE

If he beaten the rod of
correction cane, scourge him
there is no danger of his
dying under the rod,, or
stripes given him, besides,
such proper corrections may
be a means of preserving him
from such crime as would
bring him to a shameful and
untimely death
