PROVERBS 23:19-24
|
19) Hear thou, my son, and
be wise, and guide thine
heart in the way
20: Be not among
winebibbers; among riotous
eater of flesh
21: For The drunkard and
the glutton shall come to
poverty and drowsiness shall
clothe a man with rags

HEAR THOU MY SON AND BE
WISE
Listen to the instruction of
your father, of the word of
wisdom from the Gospel,
which is the way to to be
wise unto salvation; as faith
comes by hearing spiritual
wisdom, and increase of it;
the spirit of GOD, and his
gifts and grace.
Be wise, grow wiser and
better by it, follow the right
path by ordering the whole
course of thine affection and
action in GOD’S way, which is
the path of righteousness.
Children are to hear and
obey the command of the
GOD’S law, they are to be
guided by wisdom in all their
words and actions, keeping
their heart focused on the
way of wisdom of GOD, they
should never allow their
desire to stray from the path
of righteousness and guide
their heart in the way of the
LORD.
BE NOT AMONG WINE BIDDERS
RIOTERS EATER OF FLESH
Do not associate with
persons who meet together
for express purpose of

drinking intoxicating liquors
drunkards and gluttons,
people who will influence
you to follow the lust of the
flesh, Drunker and
overeaters, the indiscipline
people and cannot control
themselves, they represent
people who are ruled by the
desire of their flesh , who
cannot control their greed,
tempers, words, sexual
desire, or host of other fleshy
vice, avoid who give free
reign to their passions
FOR THE DRUNKARD AND
GLUTTON WILL COME TO
POVERTY
They are indiscipline and
become drowsy,
unproductive and poor, the
lives of indiscipline people
are negatively and
dangerously affected by their
lack of self control, which is
life destructive, for the
drunkard and glutton shall
come to poverty, excessive
eating and drinking brings
drowsiness on me, unfits for
business, and makes them
idle and slothful; and
spending all on their bellies,
they have nothing for their
keeps, and are clothed in
rags, which is sin and should
be avoided by disassociating
oneself from those with
undisciplined conduct that
leads to poverty and death.
A righteous life is a
marathon, not a hurry, it is
maintained through a day-by-
day, step-by step walk with
the LORD, we never arrive at
a place in our lives where we
have completely overcome
the flesh and are no longer
capable of backsliding into
foolishness and sin.

PROVERBS 23:22

22: Hearken unto thy father
that begat thee, and
despised not thy mother
when she is old
|
HEARKEN UNTO THY FATHER
THAT BEGAT THEE
Any who, therefore, desire
and seeks good in all his
counsel and blessing of GOD
should, honor and obey their
parents, GOD’S fifth
commandment here
EXODUS 20:12 and
Commandment of promise
EPHESIANS 6:1-3, Children
must be taught to live
righteously, and they need to
understand that a major part
of living righteously is
honoring their parents
throughout their lives.
Listen to your father and do
not despise your mother’s
advice if it is godly, because
they gave them life.
Children are under the
father’s authority and
teaching as contained in
DEUTERONOMY 6:6-7 they
are to obey the fathers’
instruction and never
disrespect their mother, if
they do by disrespect , they
have depart from their godly
upbringing and living a sinful
life by neglecting and
forsaking their parents.
Children honor and bless
their elderly parents by
seeking to please the LORD
and living righteously

PROVERBS 23:23

23: Buy the truth, and sell it
not; also wisdom, and
instruction and
understanding
|
BUY THE TRUTH, AND SELL IT
NOT
Consider truth as a thing of
the highest value the word
of truth, the Gospel of
salvation, which comes from
GOD of truth; has CHRIST,
who is the truth, men are
directed and led into it by the
Spirit of truth.
For we must not spare no
pains, cost or sacrifice to
obtain it, when gotten keep it
safe, Spent your energy
continually and effort to get
truth, wisdom disciple and
understanding, these four
qualities are not cheaply
acquired; they come at great
price, teaching these
valuable behaviors to your
children is the great purpose.
GODLY parents make
communicating and
demonstrating these
priceless treasures a priority
in their family, GODS word is
truth ,we receive wisdom
through GOD’S word, which
corrects our sinful nature and
give us understanding,
teaching us how to live
successfully
We must be willing to pay
the necessary price endure
disciple in order to learn to
control our fleshy desire and
obey GOD’S Holy word, we
must spent our time and
energy to acquiring these
four qualities and never sell
them for anything this world
have to offer

PROVERBS 23:24

24:The father of the
righteous shall greatly
rejoice: and he that be getted
a wise child shall have joy of
him
|
THE FATHER OF THE
RIGHTEOUS SHALL GREATLY
REJOICE
The father of the righteous
shall rejoice, in his son; not
that he is rich, but righteous,
truly righteous, internally and
externally; having the
righteousness of CHRIST and
true holiness imputed in him,
and so lives soberly,
righteously, and godly
Be a righteous and wise
child whether you are young
or old, son and daughters
who are willing to pay the
price to get wisdom of GOD,
brings great joy and delight
to their parents, we must
sacrifice in involving our
children with spiritual
training of godly activities

PROVERBS 27:11

11: My son, be
wise, and make my heart
glad, that I may answer him
that reproacheth me
|
MY SON, BE WISE, AND
MAKE MY HEART GLAD
My son live wisely; it brings
joy to your parents and is a
strong testimony to good
teaching, parent must direct
children to seek GOD’S
wisdom that come through
CHRIST, which will bring
great joy and gladness to
their parents, wise and godly
children are good testimony
to parents who use them as
fruits of righteousness to
their enemies and can
defend themselves by
pointing to their children
godly life.

PROVERBS 29:17

17: Correct thy son , and he
shalt give thee rest; yea he
shall give delight unto thy
soul
|
CORRECT THY SON, AND HE
SHALL GIVE THEE REST
Diligent parents know peace
and joy because they
discipline their children, wise
parents who discipline their
children, give their kindness
to his parent, obedience to
them, and respect for them;
by his prudent behavior
among men, his temperance,
diligence, and industry in his
daily activities; by his fear of
GOD and walking in his ways:
nothing can give a greater
delight and pleasure to godly
parents than that.

This is the first great duty
which GOD has enjoined on
Children, it is to do what
their Parents command
them to do, because the
child is not competent as yet
to reason on what is right, or
qualified to direct himself,
because the welfare and the
taught of the obedience of
the law of the child depends
on the parents

To obey means to do as one
is told; to honor means to
respect and love,

Children , obey their parents
in the LORD that is, accept
their guidance and discipline
as his representatives, for
this is right, by the
fundamental laws of
humanity, recognized in all
races and all ages and
declared and sanction by
GOD.
For obedience teaches
wisdom and self discipline,
manifestly just and
reasonable.
Honor esteem, value,
reverence, obey, assist in all
things as precious, your
father and your mother and
be respectful to them this is
the first commandment with
a promise
So that it will be well with
you, and that you may have a
long life on the earth
FIRST COMMANDMENT OF
PROMISE
With a promise annex to it,
the promise is that their days
should be long in the land
which the LORD would give
them, it is assurance of the
obedience of GOD’S law
would be followed with
blessing , which is a special
promise in the fifth
commandment with a
particular assurance that
they who honor their parents
shall have a particular
blessing as a result of that
obedience:
Obedient children to the
commandment are saved
from the vices and crime
which shorten life,

CHILDREN OBEY YOUR
PARENTS IN ALL THINGS
Children are required to
yield, humble subjection to
those that brought them
forth,, or have just authority
over them, not sinful things
or ungodly things, in things
offensive to the duties and
doctrine of CHRIST, GOD is to
be regarded not man
FOR THIS IS WELL-PLEASING
UNTO THE LORD
Very acceptable, for what
ever is grateful and well
pleasing to GOD ought to be
done with pleasure by us,
from the principle of love to
GOD by faith in him, and with
a view of his glory, for the
children to obey their
parents as contained in the
fifth commandment
