PRACTICAL APPLICATION

LUKE 12:16-21
16)And he spake a parable
unto them, saying, the
ground of a certain rich man
brought forth plentifully
17)And he thought within
himself, saying, what shall I
do, because I have no room
where to bestow my fruits?
18)And he said, this will ido I
will pull down my barns, and
build greater; and there will I
bestow all my fruits and my
goods
19)And I will say to my soul,
soul, thou hast much goods
laid up for many years; take
thine ease, eat, drink, and
merry
20)But GOD said unto him
thou fool, this night thy soul
shall be required of thee;
then whose shall those things
be, which thou hast
provided?
21)So is he that layeth up
treasures for himself, and is
not rich toward GOD

ANXIETY AND CARE OF WORDLY
POSSESSION
The ground of certain rich man
plentifully, the rich men are not
always wise in natural and civil; and
very few are Spiritually wise, things
which relates to the welfare of their
soul;.
This man covetousness, consisted
in the satisfaction which he took in
his goods and fruits, in his putting a
high value on pleasure of luxury
which they afford, and in proposing
to drive his happiness from them
alone, without taking GOD into his
scheme at all, he was guilty of
contemning his maker, on whom
he depended for every thing, and
by whose providence alone he lived
to enjoy blessing, and GOD , with
the just displeasure, said to him
THOU FOOL
It was foolishness for him to think
of making no other use of his
plenty, possession, than to indulge
the flesh and gratify the sensual
appetites, without any thought of
doing good to others
THY SOUL SHALL BE REQUIRED OF
THEE
The death of such person is
miserable in itself, and terrible to
them,, thy soul shall be required,
He is to part with it, GOD shall
require an account of it as a guilty
soul to be punished without delay.
While you are talking long
succession of pleasurable years thy
soul shall be required of thee, that
soul, which just now said had much
goods laid up for many years, that
just said take and eat, ease and
merry, thy soul shall be required of
thee by GOD that gave it.
THE WHOSE SHALL THOSE THINGS
BE WHICH THOU HAST PROVIDED
Carnal Worldliness is a sin
SO IS HE THAT LAYETH UP TEASURE
FOR HIMSELF AND NOT RICH
TOWARD GOD
So foolish and unwise is he, that
takes care to lay up treasures on
earth, and in the main time neglect
the riches of grace:
Men may have laid up much earthly
treasure, who are not rich toward
GOD
Great estate and enjoyments of this
life have enticing quality in them
They make us unwilling to die, and
willing we shall live for many years
- They entice us to sinful
merriment and luxury, eat,
drink and be merry
- He that hath most may have
his soul taken from him
- When he dies, he know not
whose those things shall be,
nor whether his son or
stranger shall inherit them,
nor
It is the foolishness of most men, to
mind and pursue that which is for
body and for short time only, more
than that for the soul and eternity

19)Lay not up yourselves
treasure upon earth, where
moth and rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves break
thought and steal
20)But lay up yourselves
treasures in heaven, where
neither moth nor rust doth
corrupt, and where thieves
do not break through nor
steal
21)For where your treasure
is there will your heart be
also
ANXIETY AND CARES OF THIS
WORLD
LAY NOT UP FOR YOURSELVES
TREASURES ON EARTH
JESUS warns us of snare, the love of
money and earthly things, worldly
mindedness is common and serious
sign of hypocrisy,
Worldly wealth and riches; or the
things and places, in which these
are laid up, JESUS CHRIST here
dissuades from covetousness, and
worldly mindedness; an anxious
and worry , to hoard up plenty of
worldly things for themselves , by
that Satan have a sure and faster
hold of the soul, under the cloak of
a profession of religion
TREASURES ON EARTH: of wealth
consisted in clothes or change of
raiment, as well as in gold, silver,
land, houses, card, plane in
abundance of anything that is held
in the comfort of life and shift the
focus from GOD
LAYING TREASURES IN HEAVEN
That is either be concerned for,
and seek after heavenly treasure,
the riches of glory, the joy , which
will never be corrupted, or taken
away; or rather lay up your earthly
treasure in heaven; that is putting
them in the hands of GOD in
heaven
That is having provision made for
your eternal contentment, do not
exhaust your strength and spend
your days in providing for life here,
but let your chief anxiety be to be
prepared for eternity
Is to concentrate fully to GOD and
help all men who are in need
Mansions and furniture’s in heaven
are secured from moths and
termites, metal are secured from
rust, precious stone are free from
thieves’ and all heart are saved
from fear and loss forever
FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS
THERE WILL YOUR HEART BE ALSO
A most undoubted truth, and a
most weighty reason why we
should not make any thing on earth
our treasure; for what ever we
make our treasure gains possession
of our hearts; we set our affection
upon it
MATHEW 13:22-23
22)He also that received
seed among the thorns is he
that hearereth the word; and
the; and the cares of this
world, and the deceitfulness
of riches, choke the word,
and he becometh unfruitful
WORDLY CARE AND ANXIETY
CHOKE THE WORD
HE ALSO THAT RECEIVED SEED
AMONG THE THORNS
CARES OF THIS WORLD is carnal,
worldly convert, who never really
break , with his past, worldliness
and materialism choke the word in
his life, and he is finally
unfruitful(unsaved)
The person who is more focus on
earthly things are contaminated by
distracting worries, the excessive
desire of our hearts after the
worldly things draw men’s affection
off from the word of GOD.
And the cares of this world; not the
care of another world, nor a care
about spiritual things in this world,
but anxious and excessive care of
them, make the word of GOD in
him vain or unfruitful
AND DECEITFULNESS OF RICHES
In opposition to some riches, the
riches towards GOD, the riches of
grace and glory, which have no
deceit in them; and not riches
themselves, bare worldly riches but
the deceitfulness of them, which
often leads people out of the right
way, out of GOD’s way; cause them
to err from the faith
CHOKE THE WORD:
The deceitfulness of riches does the
mischief; by putting our trust in
them, then they choke the good
seed, by preventing the
overspreading all the power and
faculties of the soul, as thorns do to
field.

6)But godliness with
contentment is great gain
7)For we brought nothing
into this world, and it is
certain we can carry nothing
out
8)And having food and
raiment let us be therewith
content
WORRY AND CARE OF THE WORLD
BUT GODLINESS WITH
CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN
The religionist/false teachers are
motivated with outward practice
and are driven underlying
motivation of greed and taught that
their wealth was a sign of GOD’S
approval of their teaching
WITH CONTENTMENT
Refers to the state of mind; a calm
and satisfied feelings; a freedom
from murmuring and complaining,
which is connected with contented
in mind
WHAT IS REALY GREAT GAIN
Is godliness with contentment
Love of GOD, the right fear and
focus is obedience to his will
Those that make trade of Ministry
to serve their turn for the world, be
disappointed
For
LET US BE THERE WITH CONTENT
Believers should be content with
the basic of food, clothing and
shelter, believer should not be
driven by the desire to get rich, as
the love of money is the root of all
evil, if therefore GOD gives us any
thing more than is necessary for us,
let us take it thankfully, and use it
for GOD’S glory; but if we have non
than just necessary for us, let us not
murmur, but be content, without
murmuring against GOD, or use
undue means, out of an inordinate
desire to get more
Believers must serve GOD by
generously giving to the Poor and
needy to have treasure in heaven

10)For the love of money is
the root of all evil; which
while some coveted after,
they have erred from the
faith, and pierced themselves
through with many sorrows
CARE AND WORRY OF WORDLY
POSSESSION
Money itself is not evil, but the
excessive love of it. Whether
detected in an over eager desire
after it, or an excessive delight in it,
is the cause of much evil.
The evils is out of ambition, and
greed, and corrupting lust, and
hatred of GOD and goodness, all
sorts of evils grow out of the love of
money, almost all crime in the
word is trace to money.
It is the love of money that is the
root of all evil or the source,
Despite overwhelming evidence to
the contrary, most people still
believe that money brings
happiness, rich people craving
greater riches that entangles them
and caught in endless circle that
only ends in ruin and destruction
WHICH WHILE COVETED AFTER
Which money while some too
greedily craved after, and being
seduced
THEY HAVE ERRED FROM THE FAITH
that is the doctrine is now focused
on money (Mammon) their mind
are so filed with worldly cares, and
deceitful riches, that the word is
choked, and becomes unprofitable
having loved this present world
AND PIERCED THEMSELVES
THROUGH WITH MANY SORROWS
Expose themselves to a great many
sorrows, which have pierced their
very soul, such as cares troubles
1 TIMOTHY 6:17-19
17) Charge them that are
rich in this world, that they
be not high-minded, nor trust
in uncertain riches, but in the
living GOD, who giveth us
richly all things to enjoy
18)That they do good, that
they be rich in good works,
ready to distribute, willing to
communicate
19)Laying up in store for
themselves a good
foundation against the time
to come, that they may lay
hold on eternal life
WORRY AND CARES OF THE
WORLD
CHARGE THEM THAT ARE RICH
That they do not think better of
themselves on account of their
money, or anything it can purchase,
we must never let the presence of
wealth make us think that we are
better than others
NOT TO TRUST IN UNCERTAIN
RICHES
We must avoids much
misunderstanding about the
acquisition or possession of
material goods and not to trust in
riches , that is not to hope on
riches or expect them to bring
security.
Those who place their happiness in
the enjoyment of carnal pleasure or
in the possession of the
convenience they can procure these
things, on and elegancies of life,
naturally trust to their riches for
their happiness because of their
money and thus they become dead
to all sense of their dependence on
GOD .
Riches are so transient, value
change, and earthly riches are only
good as the present value, our trust
must be onto GOD who will make
provision for us
Nothing is more uncertain than
worldly wealth, those who are rich,
must see that GOD gives them their
riches, but must have a heart to use
them by doing good showing faith
in JESUS CHRIST

5)Let your conversation be
without covetousness; and
be content with such things
as ye have; for he hath said I
will never leave thee, nor
forsake thee
LET YOUR CONVERSATION BE
WITHOUT COVETOUSNESS
Let our conduct, behavior or
manner of living be without the
love of money or an excessive
desire of, and endeavor after more
of this world’s goods than GOD
please to give you.
Which is immoderate desire, of
riches, and over anxious care for
worldly things, attend with
dissatisfaction, and discontent,
preferring the worldly riches
AND BE CONTENT WITH SUCH
THINGS AS YE HAVE
Having a heart submission to the
will and providence and satisfaction
that GOD provide for us
I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE NOR
FORSAKE THEE
GOD will not leave his people in the
hand of the enemies, nor forsake
them in distress, nor withhold good
thing from them, needful for them,
but will supply them with
necessaries of life, with which they
should be content.
